Still stunned and deeply saddened by the news of SW. Did she have a scholarship? Maybe Dunning felt Kelsey could fill the role that Sam played on the team. Kelsey's club picture reminds me of Hannah B.

Looks like, reading the tea leaves, she is a walk-on with with good all-around skills. Her bio says she likes to play sand ball and since UCLA recruited her, I'm thinking she has very good ball handling skills. Maybe a DS/serving specialist? I watched video on youtube of her at Torrey Pines.. and it didn't appear (at least in the video I watched).. that she played back row... I'll say that she definitely will not be playing in the front row.. might be a nice get for Stanford.

Whos the future in the 2013 and 2014 class. I know one or two have been mentioned, any others? OK, I'll bite. What about 2013 Merete Lutz, 6'7" MB out of the Houston, Texas area. I don't know much about her. I heard she didn't play high school last year to train exclusively with club. She will be a project and probably would redshirt her freshman year. All this is total speculation on my part. She is still uncommitted and Tawa says she might become a top 10 Senior Ace. Anyone have any information? Here is some additional information: First a correction: I was informed Merete is actually 6'8" tall (and possibly still growing). I checked on her club website and sure enough she is listed at 6'8". Merete has been playing volleyball competitively for less than three years. Needless to say she is behind the curve at this point in time. Someone said she is willing to redshirt her first year. There is no way to know about that. If true Merete would not be playing in a college match until August 2014. I ask Stanford fans to chill until they know when her rookie DI season will start. Apparently she should have no trouble getting through admissions. Will Merete Lutz become a Cardinal? Who knows? The chances increase the longer there is no public announcement.

I googled "Kelsey Moore volleyball" and mostly found references to the UTEP player who became Miss Texas....
Adding 'wave' to the search found this Kelsey.

Kelsey has played on Wave 2nd teams before this year. She's a nice player, nice athlete, but she will not be able to help the Cardinal in the front row, and she doesn't usually play back row when she has played. She is a great kid.

The how the hell did she get a scholarship to UCLA? Maybe it was academic...?

You know, it just might be in the realm of possibility that she's a bright kid who was accepted at Stanford and has no plans for playing volleyball.

I am trying to check it out. It is extremely hard to get admitted without a coach tagging an application but it can happen.

The article says "Greatest Sports Accomplishment?" Getting a scholarship to UCLA. She could just be saying that would be her idea a the greatest accomplishment, not that it actually happened.

When does Stanford publish a press release announcing all the new recruits? Or have they already and I missed it? I don't see anything listed on their website yet. They've all signed, right?

Should be in announced in a couple of weeks, after admissions is finalized. Then they can announce walk-ons as well as scholarship athletes. Last year it was on June 6.

I think it is a joke. Did you see how she was goofing off in the picture? If she's been on the two's team until this year, the UCLA thing sounds iffy too.
