A lot. Don't even get me started. You're lucky I don't hate you because of simple association, you Husky.

hopefully we can all go back to not caring about women's basketball now I never cared. I only knew it was over because they interrupted a football game....that is also the reason I actually knew it was going on.

I think UConn team got too cocky, listening to coach and players(some) on team, and concentrated too much on record and got caught up in the hype instead of just concentrating on just playing basketball. They should have taken a lesson from Penn State Women's Volleyball. They never concentrated on the streak(109) and during the streak they tried to avoid talking about it when ask about it because it was a cumulative effort from different players from different years and they told the media that it meant more to the media than it did to them. They continually stayed focused on their goal of winning their last match of the season and for that, Russ and Penn State has 4 NC's in a row.

Wow, I guess that's why PSU's streak is still going, right? No way they possibly could have lost like UConn did, because they had such a great attitude....

The PSU girls were never concerned about any streak. They had only one goal and still have only one goal and that is to win the NC one set at a time from start of season. They(UCONN) had t-shirts already made up with "89" prior to playing their opponent for 89th win. You will never see that with PSU.

There is no need to belittle the UConn WBB team in order to build up the PSU WVB team. And as for missing the point, I think that's because you utterly failed to make one. UConn losing a game doesn't prove they had a loss of focus and were caught up in the hype, unless PSU losing also proves the same thing.

For one, it's much easier to handle a streak the way you believe Penn St. did when no one outside of your university town cares (relatively speaking). ESPN, the New York Times, etc... wasn't in Penn St.'s faces for weeks in the middle of the season. If you are going to talk to ESPN, ABC and the others you have to answer their questions. If that comes across as concentrating on other things, so be it. If ESPN had cared about PSU's streak PSU would have come off the same way to some people regardless of how they were handling things internally. For two, by taking his stance Rose didn't do anything to bring attention to something special that was/is happening in volleyball. Basketball coaches and media are way better at this than volleyball people. The major media actually cared about this event, and UCONN took the opportunity to promote their sport, and program. I didn't think Geno came off cocky, but he was interesting. Russ on camera...boring! Third, the UCONN players and coaches didn't have anything to do with the shirts. That is the job of UCONN sports marketing, and if they didn't have those ready they would have been fired before the final buzzer went off! I suspect that if you look around the athletic department you will find places where Penn St. has shirts at the ready. I don't remember what the previous volleyball winning streak was, but are you sure it was even worth a tee-shirt? I mean if it was 40 some matches in a row, that's not really that exciting. The volleyball team that wins 110 in a row will have shirts ready, I guarantee it!
