I think Bebe Candellas was the tallest at 6'7" for USC. Emily Adams was about that tall also, 6'5" though if I am correct...I may have to google it... Bibi Candelas is "only" 6'5," Emily Adams is 6'6" (anyone remember her dad in the NBA? Heck of a player). Tayeeba is a legit 6'7." Emiliee Toone, former Utah player, is also 6'7." I wonder if American U. fudged the Recht's height - they're generally listed at 6'7" everywhere other than American's media guide. Tallest player I've ever seen (non-NCAA) is a Russian, Nelli Alisheva, at 6'9." Gamova is somewhere up there as well.

I think Gamova is 6'7".
6'7" is probably the tallest that I've heard of (legitimately) in the volleyball world, but I know that NCAA basketball has/had a bigger girl.

Gamova and Merkulova from Russia are both a hair under 6'8" (202 cm) and would probably be listed there such if they played college in the U.S. I thought Godina and Goncharova were similar, but the interwebs tell me they're only 6'5".

You might be thinking of Brittney Griner at Baylor - she's every bit of 6'8." But the all-time record holder (basketball) has to be Margo Dydek, who played in the WNBA for years (and recently passed away at age 37). 7'2."

Sarah Macfarlane of LMU was about 6-6. BYU currently is led by a sophomore outside hitter who is about 6-6.

It was mentioned, but yeah - the Recht twins at American were 6'8" each.
In the recent memory in the Pac-10, I remember Charlotte Brown and Lauren Barfield were listed at 6'5". Hayley Spelman and Amanda Gil were listed at 6'6".
I remember when Washington State had a 6'6" middle (forgot her name) back in the late 90s. What was remarkable was that she played 6 rotations.

Charlotte Brown was listed at 6'5" but I think she might have been closer to 6'6"

Mildly interesting note about the Recht twins: Guinness Book of World Records measured them in 2007, and they were both 6'7" (2.01m). American U. listed them as 6'8" that same year, as well as years prior. Difference between bare feet and wearing shoes, I suppose. Not that there's any monumental difference between 6'7" and 6'8." www.guinnessworldrecords.com/Search/Details/Tallesttwins---female/48400.htm

She spent two years at Washington St. and then transferred to Texas Tech. So everybody is right! She says she's 6'6," I've always thought she was a tad taller.

Tall isn't everything. I'll take someone 6'2-3" who can vertical 35-40" over someone 6'8" who can't elevate. Still blows me away when I re-watch some of those Texas VS Nebraska matches and I watch Hooker sky so high she hits down OVER a 6'5" Sarah Pavan block an Sarah COULD elevate. Hooker just jumped so high she'd come down with ice on her head.
