Hey folks, please bare with me. I just got my son graduated and off to college on a football scholarship. Now I have a daughter that lives for volleyball. With football we had a ton of sites to get recruiting info, like scout or rivals, etc. Is there more good sites for the volleyball world? After years of working in the football recruiting/scouting world I'm amazed at how hard it is to find info on players, programs, and so on. If anybody has some good sites for me to visit please pass it on. Volleyball has consumed me and my interest level and want more information on everything. I enjoy this forum and am looking forward to more good reading. Thanks

There are two resources I would recommend. One is the book Inside College Volleyball - www.insidecollegevolleyball.com - which is full of information and advice related to the recruiting process and college volleyball in general. The other is the www.collegevolleyballcoach.com blog, which features loads of posts on recruiting and the like, with lots of Q&A.

Great, thanks a ton, I am really enjoying this new world of competitive volleyball. Which no offense meant to anybody, is something I never thought I would be saying. I played football for 16 yrs, coached football for another 10. My first ever experience with this sport was in Reno at the nationals when my daughters team competed. I was hooked!!! The passion and ability of these young lady's was over whelming. I had my my high school football studs play against my daughters 12 yr old power team in a friendly couple sets and the boys just got worked and horribly humbled. I think it was like 25-3/ 25-2. Greatest thing I ever saw! Now half my high school football team plays outdoor 2 man volleyball. Love it! That's when I realized, so many people are just ignorant to this sport and don't know what its truly about. Anyways, thanks again for the links.

Glad to help.
Recent figures show that volleyball is the #1 female participation sport in the US by a healthy margin, but it is really amazing how often I hear stories like yours. It's really a question of volleyball needing to be seen to be believed.

I suggest you check out Prepvolleyball.com The have a free message board with some great people who could give you tips and directions on what steps to take as its more focused on pre-college than this board is. The regular site is a pay-site but supposedly has very useful information (I've never personally used it but other people on here recommend it).

prepVolleyball.com is a wonderful place to go spend time immersing yourself in the land of Prep Volleyball. There are personal journey stories, coverage of tournaments, rankings of high school teams, rankings of recruits, etc. The message board is free. So, you can see what kind of articles are posted on the pay-side there. There is a new topic whenever a new article has been posted.
Some clubs join PrepVolleyball as a group, and get a reduced rate per person.
