We've talked about Hawai'i trying to stop USC but haven't talked about USC trying to stop Hawai'i. USC, although bigger than the Bows, is not a better blocking team. How is SC going to deal with all of the options at Mita's disposal? And how will Hawaii deal with all the options Kendall has in her disposal ?? Hawaii does not have the same options in offense as USC. Danielson and Croson gets the bulk of the sets, with a little bit of Hewitt and Hartong. USC as of late has been very middle oriented, every good pass they run the middle. Blocking will be where Hawaii wins this match

Everyone is worried about stopping Jupiter, but it should be USC middle that Hawaii needs to contain because Williams and Olgard have been deadly as of late.
I love though the enthusiam of the hawaii fans. As far as Hawaii being the toughest serving USC has faced, give me a break. I have watched a lot of hawaii games and other than Croson, they are a decent serving team. Passing is USC biggest asset, and they have nations best libero. If hawaii wins this match, it is because of blocking.

But did you flush and put the toilet seat down? Having a stench filled feces ladden mist permeating the air inside your home is not good indoor climate control. Hammer, you sound like you have a lot of experience with that! and I mis-spelled Now..... I am now picking Hawaii to win it all! damn you, beachman!

Yesterday morning the toilet seat was so cold that I forgot why I was sitting there.

It has been a few years since I have posted, but this Hawaii team has got me to come out of the woodwork again. There is definitely something special about this team but what worries me most is not Jupiter, but Hawaii itself. Someone in a thread earlier posted a clip of Hawaii beating USC with Kanoe's amazing run in that 5th set. What stood out the most to me was Hawaii's passing was light-years better then than now. Hawaii's best passer is obviously Kanani, but every team knows not to serve to her. If Hawaii can pass on average of a 2.5 or so, then the chances of Hawaii winning esp with the HCA will be great. Go Bows! Everyone is worried about stopping Jupiter, but it should be USC middle that Hawaii needs to contain because Williams and Olgard have been deadly as of late. I wouldn't consider 2006 a better passing team than 2011.

I wouldn't consider 2006 a better passing team than 2011. maybe Hawaii in g5 just passed really well in that brief snapshot then? When I rewatched that youtube video, what amazed me besides Houston's 35 kills was Hawaii's passing seemed so much steadier compared to now.

well in game 5 they really didn't pass much due to all the USC errors and Hawaii blocks to be honest.
Hawaii 2009 is IMO the best passing team I've seen this decade

I have to disagree with you, my friend. Granted the PAC 10 was down this year but USC looks very much like a team ranked number one. USC is the favorite going in, and as a Hawai'i fan, I am good with that. for someone to believe that hawaii is the clear favorite in this friday's matchup is absolutely idiotic. That's why they call me the idiot savant of Wahine volleyball. Hana hou! Imua, my Wahine!

Buddy, that was a HORRIBLE passing team. The only reason they were good was the team settled in after all the injuries by the time the WAC was done AND Kamanao could make any pass a beautiful set. Mason, Houston, Lee and Duggins for three rotations was the passing core, and let me tell you in was SHANK central that year. It has been a few years since I have posted, but this Hawaii team has got me to come out of the woodwork again. Go Bows! yup, Hawaii had some real passing issues that year. lee was the 3rd option at libero, and thank god, she at least was able to help stabilize it. losing Hittle as a passer earlier in the season hurt as well. don't get me wrong, hawaii played great in that match against usc... but i agree with others, passing was not that team's strength. that team played with a lot of emotion, between mason/houston/sanders. it was a solid blocking team with gregory/sanders/kaufman. and of course senior leadership from kanoe.
