Look for her to be closer to home There's a pretty big school right in the middle of her hometown. Future Sun Devil?* *Note: completely unfounded speculation here. Edit: Appears I was 100 miles off, give or take.

What does that do to Florida? Who do they have to replace her?
Also, with Murphy and Jaeckel gone... who becomes their big gun for the 2012 season?

My Google Alert says she's going to Arizona.
"Chanel Brown, who was the 2008 Arizona Prep Volleyball Player of the Year, has decided to transfer to the University of Arizona."

When Taylor Bruneis transferred to UF I posted on it, and was PM'd that I was wrong, and that Taylor was there to replace Chanel Brown, so Chanel has already been replaced at UF.

It was posted earlier that Taylor Brauneis of Louisville is transferring to UF, but I don't know that anything is official yet. Also coming is freshman Dana Backlund.
In terms of a big gun -- no bazookas unless Florida gets a transfer at OH. Noami Santos-Lamb can hit a ton, but she isn't too experienced and always looked a bit lost when she played last season. But she's the only OH with college experience. Chloe Mann at middle is a big jumper and hitter, and Florida made some improvement at setting the middles last year compared to previous recent seasons, but timing is so crucial between setters and middles that I wonder if it is not going to be rough going -- at least early on -- with new setters.

I wouldn't be too worried about Florida. They are getting two outstanding setters, one already proven setter in Taylor Brauneis. They are getting Berkley Whaley, who will be enrolling for the spring semester and Gabby Mallette. Both of whom are top recruits. I also hear there might be another outside hitter transfer coming to Gainesville.

My Google Alert says she's going to Arizona. "Chanel Brown, who was the 2008 Arizona Prep Volleyball Player of the Year, has decided to transfer to the University of Arizona." She is going to see that the PAC 12 is going to be a lot tougher. She better work on that consistency and location or that wont be a transfer that will help Arizona.

Florida is going to be in big trouble next year. Santos-Lamb is a nice player but not a terminator. Berkley Whaley is pretty good but I don't think she can carry this team on her shoulders the whole year. Gabby Mallette is a little too raw right now.
Wiggs has to step it up next year. I wouldn't put it past Mary to move her over to the outside in order to get more swings.
Losing Brown is not a big deal; Braunius is the most underrated setter in the country IMO. She's very talented.
Arizona is going to be stacked at setter next year; they've got Chloe Mathis, Lauren Fuller, and now Chanel Brown. All three are young but have a lot of upside. Too bad Rubio doesn't know how to coach.
