Arizona is really fortunate to get Chanel. Her experience and leadership against great competition is exactly what Zona needs in the brutal Pac-12. She also has the personality and character that a coaching staff wants in their setter.

Wonder if she considered ASU? They were hurting badly for a setter last season. Tucson will be nice, though. Not too far, but far enough from home.

Jason has an incoming freshman and two on roster already. He will even have the option of running a 6-2 with the incoming freshman.

Just another example of a girl not happy with what happens "behind the curtains" at florida. I hope she finds a school that she can say "yea, I'm glad I went there"

If that is coming from her-she should probably thank Mary for her release and move on... To leave and throw dirt is sad

ASU would have been a nice fit for Chanel Brown. Yes there are 2 setters and another 2012 on her way, but it does not take much to realize that some depth in that position would have made a world of difference. Having Chanel and Palmer on the roster would have been fun!
Based on ASU performance this past season, I think Chanel went with known quantity, and that is UofA, especially in light of the departing setter. However, for whatever reason, UofA struggles to get it done. From the outside, players do not appear to achieve their perceived potential. I do not have enough information to state why that is.
I believe ASU is the dark horse and will continue to improve and build. Jason Watson has this program moving in an exciting direction. Chanel would have been a great addition, but wish her well at UofA. Great to see AZ talent playing in AZ!

No Jason did not need her.

He's a lot like Jerritt; has more than enough talent on his roster but fails to make the most of it. Is Cat Highmark playing next year for ASU? Always thought she had a lot of potential. Brown is going to have a lot of competition with incoming freshman Lauren Fuller. She may be two years older but Fuller is legit. Jason Watson is a good coach.

I do not believe Cat Highmark will be back. She was fun to watch and she was missed... Pac-12 volleyball is going to be intense! But then again, that is just stating the obvious.

Does anybody know about Mercedes Binns, a 6'4" middle blocker who will be new to ASU? For those that don't know Danica Mendivil is transferring to St. Marys.

I was looking at Florida's roster from last season and although we graduated alot of talent i'm sure the team will be ok next year. It just depends who gets placed where, we will still have the following :Smith, Mann, Unroe, Pole, Lamb, Antwi, Wigss, Weston, Monserez, and a couple of new faces recently recruited. It will definitely be interesting to see the evolution of some of the players who we have only seen glimpses of and see who starts besides Unroe, and whichever setter(s).
