Well, it looks like Wisconsin is getting the Pawlikowski's from NIU as new assistants and the other shoes are dropping at NIU. Four players have requested tranfers including Laurn Wicinski. All four were recruited by the Pawlikowski's and three played on the club team coached by Coley and Dan. The fact that Wicinski is leaving considering that she was a legacy player, as both her parents played at NIU ( her mother played v-ball) could leave this pogram in pieces for as long as Ray Gooden stays around. As an NIU alum and v-ball fan, this makes me absolutely sick. If Gooden had left on high note to a BCS job and Coley Pawlikowski had taken over as head coach, it could have been a seemless transition. Coley played at NIU too, so the fracturing of the program goes even deeper.

all american! www.niuhuskies.com/sports/w-volley/spec-rel/121411aaa.htmlhere is what I want...her to transfer to Big Ten/Big 12/Pac 12 school and see how she pans out. I have always wondered about players like this that tear up a "crummy" conference and get all American recognition. If all american awards are for the best "x" number of players, this girl will again be an all american where ever she goes.... another MAC player I wondered about was Ellen Herman. She was a total stud and I'm sure could have tore up a big time conference even being undersized...

I had heard rumors of this going on. I also heard that the transfers were part of the deal for the coaches hiring at Wisconsin, i.e. no transfer, no job.
Also heard that the Pawlikowskis spoke to the NIU team and reassured them that they had not been hired at Wisconsin, and for the team to ignore the rumors.
Kind of brings the transfer conversation regarding Maryland football to volleyball. Did NIU give them full releases? Wonder if NIU will file a grievance for tampering?

The other three reported leaving are Jessica Lubic, Haley Norris and Cheyenne Dawson. Only Dawson played last year as a freshman. Norris (DS) and Lubic (S) were redshirted. It doesn't help that NIU counted on three redshirts to play this year and to my knowledge, brought in ZERO recruits for 2012. They loaded up, in theory, with back-to-back large clasees. To say the least, this points out one of the flaws in that thinking. We were thin at OH to start, now this, brutal. If Wicinski winds up at Wisconsin, what the hell is Pete Waite thinkiing. he coached at NIU befiore Wisconsin, has he no pity?

Why would NIU release Wicinski to Wisconsin anyway? If those assistants are the reason for Wicinski wanting to leave, NIU should say you can go anywhere but Wisconsin to play.

can we confirm any of this info? Usually where there is smoke, there is fire! But this one came on pretty suddenly.

www.huskiewire.com/articles/2012/02/27/54560577/index.xmlThis is an article at Huskie Wire, an NIU focused part of the Dekalb Daily Chronicle. Ray gooden is quoted in the piece. Another tidbit, Ray Goodens wife Stephanie, coached v-ball at Dekalb High School. She just resigned. Don't know if that is any part of this or not. Maybe she's a new assistant at NIU if Coley and Dan are gone.

Doesn't mention anything about the assistants. Are they going to Wisconsin? Can anybody confirm this part of the puzzle?

If those two have not been offered the jobs, then Pete's hair isn't grey.

Name one all american in the past 6 years that was from a crummy conference.
