True enough, if they can't pass. But they can, especially if given the chance. The matches I watched IMO these guys bring more to the table especially during crunch time. And they were playing the tougher teams during the time when our lineup ws still transitioning. They can play under the pressure and don't collapse. Sadly, this combination of Hakala, Clar or Schkud never really got a fair chance this season. Seems Hakala wasn't in full throttle mode (illness, abdominal strain) when we were playing the touger teams until so late in the season and positions were being changed so much no one could get comfortable. Anyhow, the starting line up is what it is and I wish them luck. Can they handle UCI, we'll shall see this weekend. If not, hope coach knows he's got options.

Hawaii will always be a tough opponent whether they are a #1 seed or a #8 seed. The thing is with this year is there is only one team that seems unbeatable-- Pepperdine. However, Irvine took Pep to 5 at Malibu in their last meeting and Irvine "beat themselves" because of late, unforced errors in game 5. If Irvine plays with the intensity and execution they did against PEP they will be tough to beat.
Both teams (particlularly the setters) are highly capable of throwing out stellar performances and it's going to come down to who's able to execute and spread out the offense better IMO.
