There are a lot of possibilities for the starting line-up. This team will have more talent than anyone in the country. However, they'll also have one of the dumbest coaches in the country and he'll put all this talent to waste. Sad. Completely agree about good ole' Jerritt. However, I'm not sure that it's easy to say that they'll have more talent than anyone in the country. Penn State's and Stanford's rosters are going to be pretty insane this season, too. Texas arguably has the best athletes, but in terms of volleyball players, I'm not sure. Same old story for Texas... a bunch of big time hitters, but can they pass and defend? They've had success a few years back because of players like Engle and Kisner who contributed heavily to the serve receive and defensive games and Hooker who hit the crap out of every set. I'm not so sure Texas has the ballers on that level. They've got the recruits who have impressive prep rankings but will just have to wait and see. Stanford on the other hand has ballers in Williams and in-coming Burgess who should solidify the outside & solid ball control. Penn State also has some ballers too that will be better all around players than what Texas has. Someone has to pass so all the big Texas girls can jump and go boom.

Yeah, cuz the coach is responsible for recent injuries to Khat Bell, Sha'Dare McNeal, Ashley Bannister, Hannah Allison, etc. over the last couple of seasons.

That's your opinion. We'll just never know. But, if Sha'Dare hadn't gotten injured early in the season (first match) . . . and, if Ashley Bannister could have stayed healthy after having had a great summer . . . and, if Khat Bell wouldn't have torn her ACL late in the season, things may have unfolded differently. Texas had to change it's offense and lineup several times throught the season, mainly due to injuries. Now, for the upcoming season, I think Texas will have as much offensive firepower as anyone in the country (assuming a healthy Khat Bell). How freshman Molly McCage can come in and contribute at MB is a huge key as replacing Rachael Adams' productivity is not an easy task. I also believe freshman Nicole Dalton's versatility and intangibles will provide Texas a unique player in the mold Ashley Engle; there aren't many of those out there. Passing and defense can always improve (which team's can't?). But, with Texas hosting a regional in December, I have a lot of confidence that the 2012 squad ends up in the Final Four in Louisville. Not a lot of teams are gonna want to end up in the Austin regional, that's for sure.

Same thing happened to Illinois a couple seasons ago.

There are lots of preventative training methods that can be implemented to guard against injuries like these. When THAT many athletes are injured, any good coach will look at their training/conditioning/strengthening programs to make sure they're doing what they can to minimize the frequency and severity of these types of injuries. He certainly isn't helpless.

I do know more. oh sorry, didn't realize you knew more than the trainers there that already have their degree and that have been practicing their craft. If you seriously think a large well funded university does not care for or implement programs to prevent common injuries you are delusional.....you can have preventative maintenance done to your car but it doesn't always stop it from breaking.

Nope, but six athletes in two years is a little much. I'm certainly not an expert, but I'm not an idiot either. If Texas volleyball had certain programs in place, it's highly unlikely we'd be seeing the same injury occurring in different players consistently. Knee injuries and overuse injuries are common in volleyball, especially with women, but you're not going to convince me that it's merely coincidence that Adams, Webster, McNeal, Bannister, Bell, and Allison (am I forgetting one?) have all had serious injuries in the past few seasons. The training program needs to be seriously looked at. Like I said, look at what Hambly at Illinois is doing.

Bannister has been dealing with her injuries pre texas. Shadare and allision both returned after sitting a few games. Don't over dramatize it.....I know it's hard for you
