Anyone know if Sports Performance's setter camp still one of the best. How about Debbie Green's or UCLA' a setters camps? Would like to fly my 13 year old daughter to California or Illinois this summer for some intense setter training. Any help would be appreciated.

greatlakescenter.com/camps/The camp they are known for is the 9 day Setters Academy, but if you send a 13 year old there she will be traumatized for life. You want the beginner camps, 2-4 days, offered a few places around the country. She'll get about a years worth of reps in a couple days.

Anyone got anything for the actual Collegiate Academy Setter camps? Is this what you're looking for? The Academies are at Benedictine University in Lisle, IL, with an overnight option for staying in a dorm. greatlakescenter.com/camps/benedictine-university/Setting Academy 1: A setting camp that is designed for athletes in high school setting at the varsity level with the desire to play at the collegiate level. This camp is very intense and only for the very serious athlete. This camp is the highest level setting camp that is offered. This camp is co-ed. Setting Academy 2: A setting camp that is designed for the High School varsity setter and incoming varsity setters with the desire to play at the collegiate level. This camp is very intense and only for the serious athlete. This camp is just below the Setting Academy I level. This camp is co-ed. Collegiate Setting: Setting camp for COLLEGIATE SETTERS ONLY. This camp provides a great way to prepare for the upcoming collegiate season. This camp is co-ed. “Development” / “Beginning Setting”: These two camps will focus on extensive fundamental training to develop proper hand position and footwork. It is highly recommended for the younger setter who is looking to enhance basic setting techniques OR the older setter who has very little experience and technical development. This camp is co-ed.

SPVB Setters Academy -- 4 or 5 days, lots of reps and classroom sessions to discuss strategy and other aspects of the position. 4 or 5? Not unless they quit a week early.

I'll try to clear up the confusion. They have THE Setting Academy at Benedictine in Illinois which is 25 sessions, maybe 70 hours of JUST setting like its your religion. This is where the title of "toughest camp in America" and the "I Survived" t-shirts came from. Then for the mortals they have setting academy's around the country that are just 13 sessions long, and a couple development camps of 7 sessions, but while they are called setting academy's they are not THE Setting Academy.

I meant more along the lines of, anyone with a personal experience or know someone with a personal experience with the collegiate setting academy. I mean reps are reps, but worth it for someone not in that immediate area to make the trip?

I believe it is SPVB that puts out a DVD with the setting drills on it, or they did; I have a copy. You get no feedback, but you can run your daughter through a ton of setting exercises.

Anyone know if Plum, Kreklow, or Carlini attended Sports Performance camps before? Carlini trained at SPVB for 10+ years I want to say. The time does fly these days.
