Anyone know if Plum, Kreklow, or Carlini attended Sports Performance camps before? Plum is probably a "no" but Kreklow might have, and the SPRI setters are expected to attend so its a safe bet campers included Lauren Carlini - Wisconsin Nelli Spicer - UCLA - USA Kelly Murphy - Florida - USA Amanda Peterson - Ohio State Elyse Glab - Northwestern Caleigh Ryan - Northwestern Kristen Kelsay - Michigan State Michelle Kocher - Texas Jessica Yanz - Penn State/Nebraska/Dayton Paige Tortorello - Maine Sam Tortorello - Penn State And I believe Alicia Glass was a camper a time or two.

denise boylan, Kelly murphy, and lauren carlini were all Gatorade national players of the year. all played at spvb and all were setters. my personal favorite, Nellie spicer was arguably ucla's best setter of all time.

SPORTS PERFORMANCE HAS DEMONSTRATED YEAR AFTER YEWAR THAT THEY TURN OUT VERY COMPETENT SETTERS. HOWEVER IT IS SERIOUS TUFF AND NOT FOR ANY YOUNGSTER BEGINNING OR EVEN ONE WHO HAS LITTLE EXPERIENCE. \ KRISTIN CARPENTER RUNS A CAMP NEAR PHILADEPHIA THAT WAS STARTED TRAINING THOSE ENTERING THE 7TH,8TH AND 9TH GRADES. NOW SHE HANDLES OLDER PLAYERS AS WELL. IT IS JUST A THREE DAY 21 HOUR CAMP. CONTACT RUSTY19411@VERIZON.NET

Christy Johnson at Iowa State, former all American setter herself runs a setting camp as well and I have heard good things from girls that went there.

Carlini was there the summer of 2012. Had a setter go there that year. Heat wave of 105 with no air. Kid had blisters on their fingers after one day with the sweat. Not an easy camp. Practice your cartwheel set the ball cartwheel set the ball all the way down the court skills. Carlini was a pro at it.

There are a lot of setter camps out there but only 1 Sports Performance setters camp. Girls that set for SP are required to attend their own setters camp. Regardless SP has a long list of collegiate multiple All Americans that speak volumes for the quality of the club and its camps when it comes to setting. Kelly Murphy(Florida), Nellie Spicer(UCLA), Sam Tortorello (Penn State), Bonnie Bremner(Penn State), Julie Bremner(UCLA), and so on. Its a impressive list of alumni and each of these players has been at one time the top rated setter in the country during their era. There is another, currently a freshman, at Wisconsin so what qualities you see in Carlini are the same techniques that were taught more than 20 years ago. There is no secret or replacement for hard work and reps. If you think your daughter will become a all-american because they go to camp is wishful thinking but they will be a better and much improved player when they survive Sports Performance Setters camp. Bring hand lotion to keep the fingers from drying out.

Anyone have a suggestion for a great setters camp on the east coast? We live on Long Island.

You can be tough, as long as you’re not toxic. Some coaches don't know the difference.

Yep... both SP and Debbie Green's. They keep pumping out outstanding setters.

My daughter is 14 but will be playing JV next year so based on the comments above, I'm thinking one of their 4-5 day camps may be a good start over the 9 day camp.
Anyone know about any differences in the Sports Performance Setting camps in the different locations. The Texas State location is only a four hour drive for us versus plane tickets to get to the one at Benedictine.

Don't want to start a thread on this, but does anyone know if there's a summer camp that specializes in middle blocker training? If not, any recommendations on which camp you'd recommend for MB's?
