BOYS' VOLLEYBALL SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS, Saturday, 5/26/2012 @ IRVINE VALLEY COLLEGE
Div, I: Loyola d. Chula Vista Otay Ranch, 25-20, 25-19, 25-14
Div. II: Mira Costa d. Oak Park, 24-26, 25-16, 25-19, 24-26, 20-18
Div. III: Windward d, Campbell Hall, 25-20, 25-16, 25-20
Saw the Div. I and II matches. Loyola dominated their match start to finish.
The Mira Costa and Oak Park match was tight with the teams very evenly matched. Congrats to the Mira Costa boys. They overcame 4 match points in set 5 to win the trophy.
Too bad the experience ends here for the boys. SoCal people call this the state championship, but there are some great teams in NorCal, so it is unfair to label it as such. Hopefully, with the CIF NorCal Championships under discussion, a true boys state championship system will develop at the high school level in coming years.

Congrats to Loyola on coming back from losing to Mira Costa. I'll watch the game online when it's available, they must have played an incredible match to dominate Otay like that.
