I don't disagree, easily the best team ever. It just annoys me a little when people want to make every team that wins a testament to teamwork and togetherness when that often isn't the case. May/Walsh are a lot like Loiola/Steffes in that regard. They didn't dominate because they were a seamless unit, they dominated because they were physically much better than their competitors. Some teams complimented each other brilliantly (Smith/Stoklos or Reno/McPeak) and were more than the sum of their parts. Other teams were exactly the sum of their parts, but those parts were just really F'n awesome (Karch/Kent, Walsh/May, Kirby/Masakayan) This teamwork vs. talent (I guess) comparison always seemed misplaced to me. For example, Smith and Stoklos were outstanding talents and won with other partners. Yes, they worked well together, but that's true for all the better teams. Dodd/Hovland were another top pair who excelled together, but were superior athletes, proven with other partners, indoors. Hell, I even saw Hovland win with Karch when neither of them could hit right side a lick. They worked it out.

If someone wants to advise me on loading VHS on youtube, I have a ton of very old semis and finals from the late 80's and 90's. The resolution won't be that great, but I've enjoyed re-watching them.

Same here - a bunch of old ones on VHS tapes - I assume we would need to convert them to DVD and then copy to PC and upload to Youtube from there? My favorites are the 2 - 3 hour ones with Sundy and Marlowe where they had the mailbag and asked players to answer, etc. - those always make me laugh - could Sundy have possibly picked on Marlowe any more? "The sky is blue today, Paul - no Chris, you twit, it is actually azure with teal overtones - oh yeah, you are right, Sundy!"

A long time ago, I converted my VHS to digital by buying a TV capture card for my computer (those are pretty cheap now I think). I connected the VCR to the card, hit record on the computer, then hit play on the VCR. The quality is terrible, but it's better than nothing.
It's a lot of work if you have a lot of tapes. There are mom and pop stores around that will do the conversions for a fee (since people have lots of family videos on VHS there's a small market for this) so it might be worth one's time to let somebody else with possibly better equipment do the dirty work. You might want to get video files and not DVDs though so they can be directly uploaded to Youtube since ripping DVDs to video files is another cumbersome process if you have a lot of them.

By the way, I encourage anyone who has videos to upload them. As a fan, I love seeing volleyball I've never seen before, and as an uploader I love getting youtube comments from people around the world

I applaud everyone who is doing this. The easiest way is to buy a Dazzle box that will wire into the USB on your computer. Then its press record and dub into the editing program before posting. I don't know what I may still have in my mother's basement...will look when I'm home next.

2007 Huntington Lambert/Metzger Gibb/Rosenthal Yes, thanks for that post. That was an epic match. Rosie's one-handed run down dig backed up by a just ridiculous one-handed stab dig was unreal. Lambo and Steino were such a great team, they had it all. And so much on the line for that game with the $100,000 at stake. Great in-game interview between Geeter and Todd Rogers as Rogey sat there waiting to see what would happen. I really hope he kicked Lamob and Steino a little green for that or something....
