These videos of EY and her partners against MayWalsh are great. Really my fave time in the womens game because of them being such great rivals on the court. I really do miss ole Ey stirring it up out there. I hope we will see great battles with teams in the future. Right now with Misty being retired Jen and April are clearly ahead in the women's game with Kerri sitting out soon.

@ tree..Thank you for giving a thumbs up to the greatness of Elaine Youngs, she was a gifted athlete and a fierce volleyball player. A special trophy should be given to her for being one of the greatest ever to play the game. She carried so many different inferior partners to battle May and Walsh in the arena of blood and death, she is a true Gladiator and she had one hand tied behind her back with the weak junk she had to partner up with. Sure she would go bananas and do stupid plays now and then and hate on her weakling partners, that left your head shaking but don't forget she didn't have the luxury of the Great Misty May by her side. If only May played with her EY would be recognized as Walsh is.
But no empty sadness or regrets for EY she won several against May/Walsh.. Get EY in the Volleyball Hal of Fame NOW!!... or im otta here..serious

EY chastised Rachael in Paris and, though I don't have a lot of details, UNACCEPTABLE.....Remember, its better to be KIND than to be RIGHT....

Yes yes yes we know about the Rachel thing. Obviously they have gotten past it since they partnered up in 2010 again. Ey still belongs in the Hall of Fame and I am sure will be there someday. I know she flipped out often but not one person can deny her talent.

I know she flipped out often but not one person can deny her talent. The "Rachel thing" was in no way one-sided. Rachel was as sick of EY as vice versa, and the mutual F-bombs flying between the two players on the court was both painful to watch and kind of funny. It started when they lost their 1st round match to (I think) a qualifier, and really got ugly in their 2nd loss against Ana Paula and somebody. EY gets a lot of deserved grief, but the meltdown in Paris wasn't all on her. EY will get into the hall of fame, of course - eventually. But it might take some time. Elaine has a particular talent for pissing people off. Now that alone is not a huge deal in terms of getting into the hall of fame, since there are already a variety of A-Holes with their plaques on the wall. But she also treated a lot of people in the sport very poorly, and it might take some time for forgiveness to set in. I'm not saying that's right, but that's the reality. See also: Steffes, Kent ( a gold medal and 110 wins - and still not in the HOF).

Lets clarify something The Rachel Thing was really a NOTHING, she was just another inferior partner that EY got stuck with and Rachel could barely barely hit a ball down to sideout and her pink flower shots were gobbled right up by the opposition. Rachel was almost as embarrassing to watch on offense as the done and over with Holly McPeak trying to sideout on the shorter court

Vballit/VBGod or WHATEVER....I was still trying to recover from your "cotton-candy" phrase on soft shots and now "Pink flower shots".....Man, people aren't going to like me when I start quoting and using those after my next and soon-to-be loss on the courts.....

Cheeesus!! I don't know which is worse~adds for Asian hookers or the Volleyballit god's diatribe. Man this board is beginning to look like the old AVP board. We just (don't) need Dr. Octa, 8th Street Meathead and Sha to make this a full blown felch fest.
Cue; witless reply by VBG.

So presumably you have the same issue with Stoklos, Karch, Hov, and Powers? Players yell at their partners, they say mean stuff, but EY gets picked on because she is an aggressive woman who verbalized like a man. That partnership was 80% EY and if Rachel had bbeen able to carry her own weight it could have been one of the greatest rivalries ever.
