tomclen if PSU is given the death penalty I will PayPal $1000 to a charity of your choosing. You continue to lash out at the messenger for merely posting links and having an opinion on this story. Thanks for your charitable offer, but I'd prefer not to wager on a case of a horrible pedophile predator who was protected and allowed to continue his crimes for another 7 years by men in power. If you have an extra $1,000 floating around, please go ahead and contribute to the charity of your choice.

We should know a bit more later this coming week when more leaks are leaked....leaks are staged, trust me...and good leaks can leave stories more messed up than a Soap Opera....its like trying to make sense of my posts, virtually no chance....

Not much fall out for Penn State so far:
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Penn State received more than $208 million in donations for the fiscal year that just ended, the second-highest total in university history despite the upheaval after the arrest of Jerry Sandusky on child sex abuse charges.
The school said Monday there was a slight uptick in the number of alumni who donated money or gifts in the fiscal year that ended June 30 to more than 75,500, reversing two years of declines.
University vice president Rod Kirsch says the school is grateful for the contributions amid "incredibly difficult circumstances."
Sandusky, a retired assistant football coach, was arrested in November. It led to ouster of head coach Joe Paterno, a move criticized by some alumni and former players.
Sandusky is awaiting sentencing after being convicted of 45 criminal counts last month.

The blame is going to be pointed directly at Paterno (do not take this a defending him, I am simply stating facts here) - the one guy who can't give his side of the story because he is dead, and witnessed nothing....the focus is not even going to be on the Sandusky portion, but Paterno's feud with Triponey sadly....

Penn State football ought to face the death penalty for this.
Will that happen? No... but that damnable statue had better be taken down and anything named after any of those four had better be renamed... promptly.
Stanford ought to refuse to play in the Nike Big 4 if those actions are not taken by the time the matches are scheduled.

The most damning accusation I heard against Paterno was that an admin planned to go to the police in 2001, but that the plan was changed after a meeting with Paterno. Sounds like Paterno convinced them to not go to the authorities.

Sounds like Paterno convinced them to not go to the authorities. This isn't a normal case is "lack of institutional control." In my mind it's much worse because the men who were to have control were the primary transgressers. FYI; Nike has removed Paterno's name from its child care center. Wise move.

The institution didn't just fail to prevent bad things from happening, they actually did the bad things that happened. It was the institution control that was the problem.

It was a case of the institution lacking moral guidance and abusing their control and command structure.
