Hey Everyone!
My name is Anna and I'm a right side from Wingate University in North Carolina. I began this amazing excursion through Europe July 11th with some other amazing athletes that I would be proud not only to call my teammates but also my friends. I joined up with Iris, an incoming freshman setter to join my Wingate team and we flew out to Munich where we met everyone else. Including Cory, a Wingate Outside, Sarah a middle from West Florida University, Breanna a rightside from Washburn University, Erin a libro from University of Missouri-Kansas City, Kearby an outside from Eastern University, Kate an outside from University of Alabama Birmingham, Taylor a middle from Armstrong-Atlantic, Madi a setter from Tennessee Tech. Right away we all hit it off and by the end of the first night we were great friends. We practiced the first night, which was interesting with jet lag kicking in and the fact none of us had played together. It went well so we all enjoyed a great night together but had bigger goals in mind and a lot of work to put in before we took off to Croatia. The 2nd and 3rd night we scrimmaged against Bavarian Youth team and the Bavarian National team respectively. It was great competition but opened our eyes to what works with our team and what needs improvement. Today we left Munich for Verona, Italy by train and another train ride awaits for Pula, Croatia tomorrow. A long week full of great competition and amazing experiences are coming in quick! Be sure to follow along on Twitter(GC_BIP_2012 and Facebook (Global Challenge Tour Team 2012) Ciao!!!!
