Recent thread of Dream Team made me think about what would the SEC dream team be halfway through conference play. Here is my Roster with 3 OH, 2 Middles, 1 RS, 1 DS, 2 Setters and a libero. OH Lisa Henning, Missouri OH Kelsey Robinson, Tennessee OH ZIva Recek, Florida M Chole Mann, Florida M Whitney Little, Missouri RS Alaicia Kastmo, TAMU Set Christine Hartmann, Kentucky Set Allie Sawatsky, TAMU Libero Taylor Unroe, Florida thoughts from others... I go OH Lisa Henning, Missouri OH Kelsey Robinson, Tennessee OH ZIva Recek, Florida M Chole Mann, Florida M Whitney Little, Missouri RS Alicia Kastmo, TAMU Set Molly Kreklow, Missouri Set Taylor Brauneis, Florida Libero Stephanie Klefot, Kentucky No setter plays faster than Molly Kreklow and her block numbers are really good. Kastmo was a tough choice over Wiggs at UF. No one passes better than Klefot at Uk.

I think there will be a lot of close votes separating 1st and 2nd team All SEC this year. If UF runs away with the title, Chloe has to be POY.

Not to be a homer, but I think Amanda Philpot from Ole Miss should be mentioned as a top setter for the conference. I think she's been the best player on our team for this season and last.

She is pretty solid. Can't see her being top 2 in the SEC based on stats of her and her team. She brings some intangibles to the game though. I'd put her top 5 in the conference on any given day. But, overall her team is hitting near the bottom of the conference and her production is in line with that. So, she is not in the mix for all conference.

Mary Pollmiller from TN has to be top 2. Her stat's are a bit skewed because Rob couldn't make up his mind on his line up. But it's obvious she should be noted.

I like Pollmiller a lot, but her stats (blamed on whatever) are what they are. And they don't put her at the top of the list this year. She probably won't make all conference. Silly dream team stuff, maybe she is deserving.

Her other stats are very impressive. A doulble double in just about every match and one triple double.

Not that there is much question this year, but I just posted my annual look at the SEC race at the half way point. My favorite stat:
From 1991 to 2010, the Gators won 19 SEC Championships. In that time, the three seasons they lost or shared the title they came back the following year to win it outright — going 14-0, 15-1, and 20-0. After losing the title last season, Florida is currently 11-0.
One total loss those four seasons!
(of course, you could almost pick any four random seasons and have an insanely small number of losses for Florida!)

Polemiller hasn't looked good in any of the ESPN matches. She got outplayed by the 2 mentioned Kreklow and Hartman. Not mentioned on this list is Baker, OH from Tennessee (dominant offensively, maybe hurt by passing and defense) and one of my favorite players in the entire SEC, super athletic Billings from Kentucky. I also think Santos, Setter from Arkansas is deserving of mention when speaking of top setters in the league.

You're basing your opinion of Pollmiller at a time that the line up was changing constantly.

And a negative one. I'm hoping he figures it out after he plays at UF and before tournament time!
