So because we've always been bad then we should be satisfied with that? Administration may be partly to blame, but so is the coach, past and present. I agree that recruiting is hard for the area. I don't consider our record to be respectable. To expect consistent growth and improvement is not off base, unless you are content with where we are at, which I am not. Whether it is Jenny or administration, something needs to be changed and to sit back and be content because that's the way it has always been just doesn't cut it for fans who want and expect growth, progress, and improvement instead of the same excuses. The talent is there. The talent quit the team a couple weeks ago. Kudos for your passion. Not many MSU vb fans around here. That could be another issue...got a booster club?

There are fans that care. I look at what Dan Mullen has done with not just the football team, but the entire fan base and community with regards to changing the atmosphere in a positive, supportive atmosphere and I see other areas improving and growing, but just not volleyball. There are obvious obstacles, including having another school up north and not having strong volleyball programs in the high schools in Mississippi, but that doesn't stop me from truly believing that we can be better than what we are showing right now. Yes, talent quit and that has been a recurring theme, which is partly why I look at the coaching staff with question and doubt. Then again, I am true maroon, lol.

That is what a positive, supportive atmosphere looks like. Miss State is a revolving door or coaches. You don't want to get rid if them any quicker than you have been. Go for some consistency in personnel before you try to invent tradition. It takes a few years for a coaching staff to establish its culture. Not sure many of the previous coaches were given that chance. But, as was pointed out, your athletic department is less funded than any other school in the conference. Maybe Mullen can keep winning and boosters will open their wallets. UF spends 100 million on sports, MSU spends 55 million. Shouldn't be a surprise that several sports aren't competitive.

Mullen is winning right now, but he hasn't been. He has not had stellar seasons, yet he still managed to change the atmosphere and build to where he is now. He has not had any longer to do so than Volleyball. Other sports are progressing, look at Mississippi State's Softball and Soccer programs. Those programs are underfunded just as is volleyball, yet they are moving forward and are gaining support from fans. How many years do you give, especially if the record is getting worse instead of better?

What kind of response are you looking for from people on here ? You've made your point. If Miss State cares about the success of their volleyball program, Jenny's record and trendlines would mean she's probably in trouble. If you see no action, then the AD either believes it will get better or isn't too concerned about the program.

How many years do you give, especially if the record is getting worse instead of better? Delusional? Even before this season, Dan Mullen was the winningest coach at MSU since the 1950's! Ask yourself this...how many sports at Miss State has consistently finished in the top 2 of the SEC West? How does Miss State's funding compare to the rest of the SEC? See any trend? Again, it's not coaching. You don't have multi-millionaire boosters willing to spend on the programs. Without the money support, you can't build a sustainable successful program. Blame that on either the boosters or administration (for not getting more boosters).

Tennessee sweeps Texas A&M -21, -19, -21. I think Rob Patrick has found his second middle in Olivia Okoro, since her insertion into the lineup she has made a big impact.

This is only his fourth season. Jackie Sherrill won far more games in his tenure that Dan Mullen has thus far. Check the records. The game right now is showing how behind we are in our game. Not looking for any particular response other than thoughts on how others perceive our situation, which is apparently that we've always been bad and we should stick with that.

Yup - just when I was ready to write off the Hogs after last weekend's debacle at home, they go and sweep KY on the road. I think this is Robbie's first win over the Cats, also. Quite the turnaround -- they looked lost last weekend, esp against TN. WPS!
