In a word, Serbia lost because their horrible ball control game. China looks very solid except Wang still struggling at times.

China came out very flat and Serbia came out serving very aggressively. I do not remember how many points Serbia ran off of on the Starovic serve but it was early in the set they established an 7-8 point lead that China was never able to come back and make it close. Everything was going Serbia's way and looked like they were going to be able to come back from all the injuries they've had until......the 2-4 sets China got their passing stabilized and were running their middle and combo plays as they are known for. They steadily increased their blocking at the net and were able to convert more balls in transition than Serbia was. Serbia's passing dropped off big time as Brankica and Djerisilo aren't the best of passers to begin with. Djerisilo is returning to the team after a long time away and she has spent time at the OPP position as well. Serbia's MB's looked great on offense and were being heavily utilized when the passing is good. Serbia just can't find consistency on the pins.
Wang Yimei returned from her ankle injury and I thought she performed well considering the circumstances. She's not at full-speed and made some unforced errors but she showed flashes of her former self and hopefully she just needs match play to get into rhythm.

I don't know who's on the writing staff for the Olympics, but I'm sure they don't really follow volleyball. "Serbia was playing without setter Jovana Brakocevic, who was the MVP at the European championship." Doesn't Brakocevic play opposite? www.nbcolympics.com/news-blogs/volleyball/chinese-women-come-from-set-down-to-beat-serbia.htmlAlso, the online announcer keeps calling Destinee Hooker, "Desiree" Hooker. They should really find people who actually follow volleyball report these games.

What are the injuries to Serbia's key players?
I recall one of their top OHs blowing out her ACL. Did she ever make it back for the Olympics?
What's the injury to Brakocevic?
