Saori and Ebata with 33 points apiece, that sounds more like a Russian point-spread.

It's great to see Japan in the semis again after 28 years. Now Russia and Brazil whoever wins will be in the final, or will Japan surprise us again?

By the fourth set this had turned into a Western style shoot out, with both sides repeatedly setting the OH, couldn't tell if the sets were high or fast, but Wang and Hui for China and Saori and Ebata for Japan were getting everything. Didn't look like either side adjusted that well; the middles were still hanging around the middle, waiting for quicks or whatever.
Those Japanese; adopting Russian/Western customs!

And Japan won because of much better defense and plus the fact that the Yimei Wang wasn't 100%.

It's great to see Japan in the semis again after 28 years. make that 24. They reached the semi in 1988, losing to Peru 3-2 and lost the bronze medal match to China 3-0

Other than the US, Japan is my 2nd choice to win the gold.
This was a great match and loving the libero of Japan.
