Since the beginning I feel like Nicole Fawcett has been wasted on the team. If Logan Tom is not coming back and Jordan Larson is planning on taking a break, then it is time for Nicole to step up. She can be turned into a really good OH. She is tall, strong, has a good serve, she just needs to learn how to pass well. Davis must be kept miles away from the team. Glass and Lloyd are the future of the team at the setter position. Russell Rose should be the next coach. Sorry Nicole is not the answer.

we just won the silver, after going 5-0 in the pool. We have Hooker.
not like there's a lot to worry about. Competition for setters and middles will work itself out.

With a Silver in our pocket and not Gold - Will this effect Hugh at MN? OK he did guide this team to #1 in the world but anymore it is based on your last outing. you would have to think the Minnesota brass is re-thinking their decision to hire Hugh

If I am Karch I might look at taking a break from the rigors of the national team. He has a family and probably hasn't been around much in the last few years. He now has the knowledge to run a collegiate program and will do fine in the recruiting area if you've ever had the chance to talk to him. What I hope for USA is they don't hire a coach that is going to change all the systems that Hugh put in place. Hugh is Hugh whether you like him or not...believe in his system or not...but the fact is his training methods developed the deepest USA gym ever. If you know anything about volleyball and have had a chance to see them practice in the last 3-4 months, you would realize that there is a great pool of young players to build on. Whoever the next coach is needs to get kids like Bailey Webster and Ariel Scott (Will be tough because Russ doesn't let them play for USA until they are done) into the USA gym early in the next quad. Look at the development Hooker made in 2 years. Had the USA not had her in this quad they would not have even been in the medal round. I think Larson is the next Logan and Hodge has a good future once she gets more passing reps. The biggest questions are setter and libero. Can Courtney and Miyashiro be those players?? Maybe. Do we need a big setter? NO!!! There are so many other characteristics of a world class setter before height is considered. Russ doesnt let them play until they are done?

I had the same thought: "just" learn to pass? OY vey! Sent from my iPad using ProBoards app

Well, there's always Men's Basketball. Wonder if Coach K knows anything about volleyball?!!? Women's basketball won gold. So did women's soccer.

Coaches don't get medals at the Olympics. So, Hugh has neither a gold, nor silver, medal.
