"The End" by the Doors just finished on my radio (dating myself) but it can and always be associated with Apocalyse Now. Thought this might be an interesting thread.

Ned.....Ryerson! Needle nose Ned, Ned the Head? I did the belly button whistling for the school talent show. Bing!
Groundhog Day. A classic. Maybe an entire thread of Groundhog Day quotes would be appropriate.

I was assuming that music specifically written for the movie (or a stage musical that the movie was based upon) is not under consideration.

"In Your Eyes" Say Anything
I know I said I was stopping so I didn't keep naming but I'm kicking myself for not mentioning this one.

I was just under the impression that a theme song was not allowed but I guess your assumption is a better idea.

You are correct in your assumptions. But considering its Phaedras and I love his choices they are fully embraced.
Great stuff vtalkers.

BTW, while I do associate The End with Apocalypse Now , I associate Ride Of The Valkyries even more closely with it. And of course there is Thus Spoke Zarathustra for 2001 . (What happened to our moonbases and Pan-Am space shuttles, anyway?) And Bad Moon Rising is definitely An American Werewolf In London .

The End with
Apocalypse Now , I associate
Ride Of The Valkyries even more closely with it.
Yes but is also used in Supertroopers and I think a couple other movies.
But indeed "Charlie don't Surf!" ;D

Surely only because they themselves are referencing
Apocalypse Now .
