sounds like a very great get for the Wahine...very exciting! the Rainbow Wahine volleyball facebook page also has posted the commitment of Kalei Greeley! That's not the official facebook page is it? I think that's a violation if it is. If it is just some fan's facebook page then that should be fine. That facebook page is the Rainbow Wahine volleyball community page. I believe a couple of local sports writers are in charge of that page and majority are fans. And most of the information on there has been very reliable.

www.facebook.com/wahinevolleyball?ref=ts&fref=ts is not an official page of the University of Hawaii or the Rainbow Wahine Volleyball program. It is not run by anyone with any official relationship with the program. That is what I was told in an email from the UHAD's Director of Media Relations, Derek Inouchi.

It says right on the page when you go on it....Wahine Volleyball Community page. The people running the page are doing a great job though. I think the University should just start an Official Wahine Volleyball page.

Sorry to change the subject. But I am extremely excited about Greeley. I didn't think she was coming to UH. She is exactly what Hawaii needs, more big girls on the outside. Looking forward to seeing her in 2014, of course Nikki Taylor and Taylor Higgins coming in this year I'm excited. Go BOWS!
Also, I am a big fan of that Wahine Volleyball page. This is the kind of publicity that people pay money for. The page is run professionally, says nothing but positive things about the program and I'm all for that. Like someone had mentioned, everything on there has been positive and informative.
Have a good weekend everybody!

Great, something i can sink my teeth into the following year afterwards. If hawaii does really good 2013 season it could open a lot more minds into changing their commitments and come to hawaii. GOOD get for Hawaii though. Im hoping for others across the oceans to think about playing for hawaii.

Definitely not changing the subject at all...this thread is about Hawai`i recruits so you are right on topic It is definitely exciting that the Wahine is getting another tall girl on the outside...it will add to the Wahine height... But I definitely agree the community fan page is a great source for Wahine volleyball...nothing but positive things...and not only for the Wahine program, they post great information about other programs around the country...as they just recently posted about the retirement of Kathy Gregory! just a great page all-around!

Not sure if McDermott is considering Hawaii but we just know she is being recruited by her. Actually the article it was mentioned in said she was being recruited as far as Hawaii which could mean she was recruited by the other DII schools (Most likely UH though). I also wasn't as impressed with Agost. I think the reason Shoji wanted her was because of her leaping ability which he mentioned he looks for mostly in recruits. I saw a highlight of her teammate who played as the other middle and she looks like a better attacker. All these 2014 recruits Hawaii is looking at seem to hit balls off of high sets. Not sure how they will adjust to Hawaii. I really liked McDermott because of her lateral moving and athleticism despite her only being 6'1.

I don't know if she has a commitment to another school, but can anyone confirm if Sirena Vorster will be joining her sister at UH in 2014? She is very athletic, and moves very well. Very good on the slide.

and those other recruits Dave Shoji recruited. Kalei Greely for 2014 is looking good so far but we need more to fill in the shoes of Hartong, Kastl, Goodman, Tuaninga, Longo, etc....

Tuaniga, Goodman, and Kastl hardly ever play so I wouldn't consider them to be too much of a loss (unless you're talking about depth). Hartong will be hard to replace but Greely should fit in nicely. Finding another libero is going to be the bigger issue.
