Apparently, most competitive programs recruit positions each year... perhaps this is one reason for many girls who transfer.

If UW does get Hodson, they'll have four players from the 2012 U.S. Girls Youth National team (Hodson, Jones, Scambray, and Schwan).

Not sure I understand your post. Texas loses Haley Eckerman, Khat Bell, and Tiffany Baker after the 2014-15 season (assuming none redshirt a year). I can see why Texas is targetting both Prince and Hodson as there could be 3 starting pin hitter positions up for grabs at Texas in 2015. Hard to believe Texas won't already have the talent to fill those three positions. Of course it would be nice to keep them away from other teams. I guess it's all about forecasting. If Eckerman, Bell, and Baker are starting their senior seasons, then there are 3 starting positions up for grabs in 2015. Obviously, Chiaka Ogbogu or one of the other underclassmen could surpass them, or be part of the group that challenges to start once they graduate. As it stands right now, there really aren't any underclassmen pin hitters waiting in the wings at Texas other than Ogbogu, and she could end up in the middle. None are committed for 2014 (didn't PSU get them all? ;-) ). MB/OH Micaya White is commited for 2015. Still not sure if the rumors of a Puerto Rican and Croatian signee for 2013 are valid; they could be 2014. With Texas signing only 2 for 2013, and adding an incoming transfer, the 2014 class could be small, but 2015 could be a big one for Texas both in quantity and quality. If they do come to Texas, Prince and Hodson would be in the mix for starting position in 2015, no doubt.

I know Samantha Jo Seliger Swenson is the top setter in the class. Btw, there was an exact thread of this a couple months ago, but, oh what the heck! There ya go pimping your favorite players. I've seen her play, long way to go to be considered the best setter of this class. I'm not pimping up anything buddy. She may be a player I like, but how about a friendly bet? The bet: Samantha Seliger Swenson will be the top setter in the 2015 class judged by John Tawa's Senior Aces award in 2.5 years. The loser can't use their account for 2 months during the 2015 season. Deal? Otherwise, Don't make up these silly games stating that I'm pimping up a player who has dominated matches and played with and against players who are already successful collegiate players! She's won MVP of Club Nationals 2 years above her age. Etc, etc. Don't challenge an idea just to challenge it. She is FAR AND AWAY the top setter in the class. It has nothing to do with where she plays or what college she's going to.

Re; 2015 Any thoughts on whom PSU is recruiting, how many scholarships will be available and what the priorities will be ? They're bringing in 5-6 scholarship players in 2014. I don't think they're recruiting big in 2015.

PSU is only looking for a few good players with lots of potential.

Huh?
The point is that PSU is just like every other school wanting to be more successful. The past is over and the future is now.

Doesn't Christy Nore have a daughter who's currently in the class of 2015? She'll--IF so--be deciding upon VB over Track, Softball, and Basketball (rather soon). The girl, Mythology, is showing that she can DIG for days just as her mother's fondly remembered.

We need mature people here in VT who can handle criticisms for their "favorite players." Ok, you've won. SSS will become the top setter of this class. End of the story.
