Nice for Banwarth to sign with a top quality team, but assume she will sit behind Castillo, who is world class. Wonder if Castillo is injured.

Looks like someone will be playing a reserve role, which is exactly the situation that Bown left Kazan because of. EDIT: They've changed the rule to allow 3 foreign players on court for the upcoming season.

Isn't Kanani Danielson still playing in Japan? If so, how is she doing? Actually ran in to Kanani on a flight this week as she was accompanying her little sister to start college. She sat behind me and I knew she looked familiar and then finally it all clicked. I talked with her for a few minutes while retrieving bags and she is returning to Japan this season.

Jenna Hagglund will play in Germany for Rote Raben Vilsbiburg. And the same team signed Dominique Lamb. Rumor has it that they'll have one or two more American players (OH and/or L).

Sha'Dare McNeal will be playing in Italy for Neruda Volksbank Bolzano (A2). She is listed as an Opp on the roster and is already practicing with the team.
I am interested to see if she will be used as a passing opposite similar to how she played at Texas, or if they will develop her into a traditional Opp attacker. I personally hope for the latter...and then for her to eventually transition to a passing left-side attacker.

There was a forum that tracked the results each week in the league that Kanani played in last season. www.inside-volley.com/wbb/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=5096&pageNo=7 (you'll have to scroll through all the pages to see results from the beginning through the end of the season) Her team was about middle of the league, but she did very well, consistently finishing as the top point-scorer for her team. She received one of the end-of-season awards (Leading Scorer, for the regular season).
