"Back on the map?" When were they ever off the map? I would say in terms of national championship contenders, they've been a little off the map (for them) They were one of the favorites to win this past season!

I heard from a very good source that she was committing to Kansas State. Good kid....big swinger! Decent hands for "the big girl". Shes only 14 years old. A lot can change between now and her senior HS season. KSU could tank and most of the real "big boy" elite programs will be beating down her door. Then again, the twin towers committed to Nebraska waaaaaaaaaay early and made it crystal clear their commitment was rock solid. That youtube which shows her delivering a kill so hard off the opposing girls face that it knocked that girl to the floor and then she stays motionless on the floor and the medical staff comes a running, was a powerful shot for anybody---let alone a 14 year old. Audriana Fitzmorris is a VB player to track the next few years. I'm thinking there should be a separate thread for her. Here's a link to a good article about her: espn.go.com/blog/high-school/volleyball/post/_/id/2166/audriana-fitzmorris-14-gets-early-usa-call The girl in that video is not Audriana Fitzmorris.

I think they have a foundation to be great, but don't see this team competing to get to the FF. It would take probably 3 freshman having incredible rookie campaigns. Dorothy, I've exchanged a few friendly E-mails with coach Cook about the overall perception that this season's team, while extremely talented, is also perceived as young and inexperienced and that most prognosticators are thinking Nebraska will take a step back this season as this season is mostly about getting ready and experienced for next season. Coach has assured me the team is aware of that perception and is using it as motivational tool and is focused on proving a lot of that thinking wrong. He hinted that he feels a lot of people are in for quite a surprise. It is surprising a coach of a top team would exchange personal emails with a fan who is going to post the contents on Volleytalk. In talking about motivational tools, isn't coach coach Cook laying down the gauntlet to Big-10 teams by implying "a lot of people are in for quite a surprise." It doesn't seem like something an experienced coach would announce when trying to integrate unproven freshmen into the lineup.

The article mentioned that Pollimer has TWO years left of eligibility. Is that correct? I thought she was a senior. Article was correct. Pollmiller will be starting her junior year next fall.

are there a lot of 'odd' people on this forum / message board? i think some people take things a little too 'literal' here. Calm down, what John Cook said was just fine as well as what all the other coaches, players who makes comments, this board is extremely touchy. I feel like i'm in a junior high chat room. but what about this, did you know that, verify this, explain this word you mean more than you did on that or this? Come on people!

I've just heard there was interest and contact. I have no idea where she would decide to go. I think Nu could be a good fit for her, family being close, etc. these players are just so young still. I think it's better when these kids decided on there schools there junior/senior seasons! I suppose I am the one of the 'odd' people you reference who think people should have some accountability for what they post. For example, you posted earlier on this thread that it looks " likely" Cook will sign Fitzmorris in 2016. Then when someone asks for an explanation you admit you have " no idea" where Fitzmorris will decide to go. It is understandable people can be given incorrect information. But you can't just make stuff up out of thin air and then later say you have no idea what you are talking about.

They were one of the favorites to win this past season! Favorite? No they weren't. I think they could have been considered a favorite for sure.

So...we're looking at a potential 6'6", great student, great kid. Here's hoping she keeps having fun, keeps up the grades, she stays healthy and around 16 or 17, develops a little "mean streak" kicker, and we're in business. She spends four years at some fine institution of higher learning and is a stalwart on the national team for the '24 and '28 Olympics. There ya go. Dang, I'll be retired by then. Let's leave her alone for a couple years.

That article is over a year old.
