Midsommar (2019) Creepy good movie. It's an American movie but set in Sweden. It's described as a horror movie but the first 2/3 is just psychological drama and the final 1/3 is horror. i liked it. thought hereditary was better

I was a little surprised that I enjoyed "How Do You Know" (2010) and very surprised I made it threw and enjoyed "Plus One" (2019). Both are somewhat non-traditional rom-coms, "Plus One" is really raunchy, which I usually don't like. The character development and endings worked for me in each movie. I'm not sure I understand exactly why.
I don't know what I expected of "Yesterday" (2019) but it was kinda meh. I'd be surprised if anyone who is not a McCartney fan would like it. I am a big fan, and I enjoyed the Lily James and Kate McKinnon characters, but overall I thought the movie missed its target.

I'd love some cult classic movie suggestions to watch. I kinda like Animal House, Breakfast Club, FB's Day Off, or those late 90s/00s like American Pie, Old School, Super Troopers. I am open to any suggestions that people have and they don't need to be on a streaming service!!!

I'll have to watch Rocky Horror Picture Show one day. I've never seen it despite numerous opportunities. It's an amusing take on old 50s Sci-Fi/Horror movies, but it's nothing special until you see it in a theater with audience participation. That used to be quite the entertaining experience, back in the day. I have no idea if anyone still does the Rocky Horror midnight movie thing anymore.

An oldie classic that I watched for the first time a few months ago was The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964). It's a French musical starring Catherine Deneuve where EVERY word of dialogue is sung. Yeah, sounds crazy like in opera-crazy. But I found it incredibly entertaining. Besides, all the songs were composed by Michel Legrand who is known for his lush and pleasant melodies.

Three Amigos might be my favorite movie ever. Fits in that vein of laugh-a-minute 80s comedy, though not necessarily the biggest hit if you ask the critics. Insanely good cast, directing, and writing staff. Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Chevy Chase, directed by John Landis, written by Lorne Michaels and Steve Martin, and music from Randy Newman and Elmer Bernstein. So good.

Watched Yesterday a couple days ago. I really liked it. Struggling singer wakes up from an accident to find no one knows of The Beatles, or their songs.

Three Amigos is a great movie. It's probably my favorite movie that involves any of Martin, Short, or Chase, so having all three in their prime was fantastic. As for critics, I often ignore them when it comes to comedies. Happy Gilmore, Dumb and Dumber, Rush Hour, etc., weren't very well-reviewed either.

Watched many movies on the plane:
Official Secrets: based on real life events. Keira Knightly plays Katharine Gunn, the employee of the British GCHQ (spy org) who leaked a classify memo from the CIA asking them GCHQ to listen in on the Security Council members and provide any info that would give the US and UK leverage in the upcoming vote to authorize the 2003 invasion of Iraq. Good thriller, but at times I just wonder if it really happened as portrayed in the movie (seemed like the entire intelligence community was against the war).
Angel Has Fallen: Gerard Butler returned as Secret Service agent Mike Bannings who was framed for trying to assassinate the POTUS. Could guess who framed him immediately, but the action and story was fun to watch nonetheless. Nick Nolte appears as Mike’s estranged father...and their experience was strange but fun.
Zombieland: Double Tap...Fun. Don’t need to say any more...just a very fun movie.
Think there is another, but I forget.
