She is indeed on the 16-1's. I've seen her play multiple occasions (a friend's daughter plays on the same squad). I think a listing of 6'4' is maybe a bit generous, although she is certainly tall. That Texas is recruiting her is a bit surprising to me. However, she's got two years to hone her game before enrolling in college and by that time might be a completely different player. Can you elaborate? I think she fits the Texas mold of being tall, athletic, and hitting a heavy ball. Do you think her play is subpar? Sub-par? No. But there's good, and then there's good enough to play for Texas (or PSU, Stanford etc). I'm not sure I've seen that level of athleticism. On the other hand, I'm not a coach who just came off winning the national championship. If Elliot & Company thinks she has the chance to be Big Time, I'd generally defer to them.

Had to change the first post and title of the thread AGAIN. Is it like Texas commitment week or something?

Any observations on Abby Buckingham? Links of her play? I couldn't find any videos of her playing but on her club website it said her 15's team won the National division and she was the MVP

Got to see Buckingham's Magic 15's team play and win a 17's tournament this spring, she's a big tall athletic OH, hits a heavy ball, jumps well, passed all the way around when we saw and played solid middle back defense. Overall a very solid 15's player that dominated a decent 17's tournament.

Apparently, 2016 Lauren Cox took an unofficial visit to Texas recently. This summer, she played with a USA junior basketball squad, and won a gold medal. Also attended Duke's summer basketball camp.
I'm not sure which sport she plans to play in college (perhaps both), but she is an elite athlete for sure. My guess is that she will sign a basketball scholarship, and have the option of also playing volleyball.

Interesting to hear that Yasmeen is committed to Texas... here's video of her team playing, she's #27 It's pretty obvious that the opposing team is serving her when she's on the court. Perhaps her passing is sub-par. Not a 6-rotational player. Another athletic player that can't pass....= Elliott's M.O. I guess it's worked for him in the past! Reminds me of a slightly more agile and slightly less powerful Ebony Nwanebu.

Liz Brenner now at Oregon not only is a key vb player but has also lettered in bb, softball (catcher), and track (javelin). One of the girls on the Texas roster last year was also on the bb team. Liz could/should have won Sports Illustrated female athlete of the year, but was beaten out (I think) by Missy Franklin the young swimmer.

But, I believe Williams and Folkl garnered All-American honors in both sports; could be wrong. That is elite level; heck, even All-Conference in both sports is a huge accomplishment.

Well as long as that quote wasn't from her mom, I guess we can believe it. I hear Audriana Fitzmorris (2016), currently with the Youth National Team, is a decent player. There are probably some others that are fairly good.
