I wonder if he's making a run at the setter from Coppell... Kylie remains uncommitted, as far as I know. But, I don't believe we have any more 'ships available for 2014 (assuming both Cat and Mirta sign their LOIs and there is no other attrition). I think Dalton's health and recovery (and any optioin for her to set in the next few years) are pretty important to how the staff is going to recruit the setter position. But, if Dalton had more health issues, which IMO would mean a retirement, wouldn't her 'ship become available?

We seem to lose players after each season due to lack of playing time.

Hmm...I thought she was, but the article also calls her a senior. Every other article I've read has referred to Yaasmeen as a current junior; she is class of 2015. I also did some research and found that she wasn't part of the group of seniors that were awarded that night prior to the Mira Costa game and referred to other seniors on the team in the context of an underclassman.

Definitely hoping that isn't gonna happen, as that would be a huge blow to the depth at the setter position for 2014.

I was at the Redondo Union-Mira Costa match last night, and saw (for the 2nd or third time) one of Texas' recruits play. Yasmeen (Yazzie) Bedart-Ghani. I think you guys will like her. Legit 6'3," and can absolutely destroy the ball. The only high school kid I've seen with as much power was Falyn F. Well coached - good footwork, really nice blocking technique. She'll need some work on conditioning and passing, but Texas is getting a good one.

The 2015 class will have big shoes to fill with Khat Bell and Haley Eckerman graduating.

What's your take on Redondo's sophomore stetter, Norene Iosia? Any clue which colleges she's considering?

Abby Buckingham is currently competing with her High School Volleyball Team Churchill at Regional Finals this weekend. Just coming off her win at Junior National Championships held in Dallas this past July receiving MVP honors. Extremely dominating player, great attitude and a power of an arm. Dynamic player to say the least will be great to see the endless possibilities that await this young lady who is very humble. As well to what I know they also signed a middle that plays with TAV 17s.

They also verbally committed the libero that plays with Blair at Austin Juniors. Claire Hahn who plays for Westlake High School. Coach Elliots daughter also plays for the same club as the two.

What is Sarah Hattis situation next season? The basketball team currently has 14 players on the roster without Hattis. They also signed 4 players yesterday for next season - a Top 10 class, to things are looking up for the program. Don't see her as much of a help to the basketball team if they are healthy.

I assume Hattis in on a hoops 'ship this season. Obviously, if she suits up in late December, then we'd know for sure. Three scholarship seniors on the hoops team -- Ashely Roberts, Chassidy Fussell, and GiGi Mazionyte. Unless there is further attrition, with four recruits signing on Wednesday, that means all 15 hoops 'ships will be filled for next season. Not sure where that leaves Hattis as volleyball 'ships seem pretty tight, as well.
