UCSB women's volleyball is historically one of the most successful teams in the NCAA. The Gauchos are just one of only four teams to qualify for the first 26 NCAA Tournaments. Overall, UCSB reached 27 NCAA Tournaments, which includes multiple Elite Eight and Sweet Sixteen berths. Before the NCAA recognized women's volleyball, UCSB was one of the top teams in the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW), reaching its national tournament Final Four three times including two third place finishes.

But when's the last time? If we went by the past, hawaii is still by far the more successful team with 3 ncaa championships are multiple final four appearances. Most recently in 2009.

And no one is denying ucsb. We have been doing nothing but wishing them luck, but you wanted to troll and act like you guys are the best in the conference, when you're not

Both sets of fan(s) are into a "tastes great, less filling", and it IS Hawaii fans as well as a certain UCSB fan. Can someone please be mature enough to stop responding? It is really king of sad.

wow Arizona State makes it and goes to Hawaii
Northridge gets Colorado State - a winnable match.
SB actually gets a good draw - they can win that region
Hawaii gets a tough draw but winnable.

Okay Big West teams...now make a statement, that although we were only a 3 team conference that possibly after the first round matches, the Big West could still have three teams in. I would LOVE for Northridge to defeat Colorado State, and more so have SB defeat a tough ranked opponent on their home court.

San Diego is a tough draw for UCSB. If we play like we did in the beachless match and the first 3 games of the Irvine match, we will be creamed. By that I mean dumping instead of hitting hard, and jstt in general playing very tentatively. If we play like we played in both Hawaii matches and game 4 of the Irvine match, we could make it interesting. I hope coach Welsh can figure out a way to relieve some of the pressure and get the team playing our best when they step out on eh court. We played San Diego early and lost 3-0, but this is not the same UCSB team.
Go Gauchos!

SB got about the best match-up it could. Not going to USC or Stanford.
it all comes down to serving and passing for SB. They haven't been overmatched by Haw, North, or LB, so no reason they can't compete well with SD. And LB finally played their best match of the year against SB this past week.
lots of young players on both SD & SB, so SB has a chance.
