It will be nice to see the old rules again, umm... must be matches posted to youtube somehow, to watch over and over ha Oh god old rule are for the birds, I love my KK all the way but the fact is he made his gold by coasting along doing long deep back line shots which no one could get becasue the court was way too long and his sharp cut shot which no one could get becasue the court was not wide enough.. Rally scoring rule everything you do out there should be equated to a point.. old scoring crap mistakes went unpunished no point agsint it. TheVolleyballGod VBG If deep line shots go down it's lazyness or respecting the hard driven attacks same for cut. Use power to open it up especially on old court.

KK was the Master of ball control those boring deep shots were by design to conserve energy..and yes they were lazy shots as far as fans in the seats go who wanted to see KK explode and crush on every ball.. SO not lazy by definition but a big yawn sometimes watching him do it that way, but he was, is and will always be the Pink Hatted Grand Master who knows all and sees all TheVolleyballGod VBG

Lara and Alexa are the best team in the qualie, they just didn't have the points to be ranked higher.
@kro: The players would rebel if MBO tried to go old-school.

Haha, on avp.com they need to change the phrase something like competing in the style of the past, or be more specific, unless they are just referring to having no stadium and being closer to the courts..for mbo.

bvbinfo now showing morrison/olson in, with a 28th seed, though they didn't play in the qualifier. The top qualifier got the 24 seed.

Match 16: Joy Akins / Jaimi Gregory (31, Q15) vs. Whitney Pavlik / Kerri Walsh (2)
I think this is the first time Jaimi Gregory plays against her old Stanford teammate Kerri Walsh in a pro tournament.

Just noticed Taylor Crabb and his brother took Phil and Sean to 3. Phil Dalhausser / Sean Rosenthal (1) def. Taylor Crabb / Trevor Crabb 19-21, 21-12, 15-9 (0:49) Pretty cool, always liked watching Taylor play in college.

I like the Crabb brothers. As a youngster I played against their dad a couple times. That said, this match and the Davis/Gregan match (also two nice guys) show what I have been saying about the scoring system. Two small rookies took a game off the world number 1 and two 40 years old weekend warriors narrowly lost to a world top 5 team.
I am not knocking Matt and Kevin who are both excellent players, but come on. A couple bad bounces and we are talking about the biggest upset in BVB history. That shouldn't happen with a team that would be seeded between 4th and 10th in an average AAA.
