i am pretty shocked with how much UCLA is struggling this season. to being ranked in the top 10, to on the verge off falling out of the top 25. definitely something unusual. i follow Hawaii very closely, and UCLA is always the second team i tend to check up on, but can anyone tell me why they are struggling so much this year? they have some talented players. so who did they lose off last years squad...? because whoever they lost, you can tell it's having a big effect on this years team. I hope they start winning again, hard to see a team like UCLA struggle like that.

No offense but you must not check up on UCLA too often if you're unaware of the amount of talent they lost from last year's squad. Kidder, Love, Todorovic (3 key players who contributed greatly to their national championship win two years ago) graduated. Strehlow transferred, Moenoa is practically gone, not being the same caliber player because of injury. Losing your entire Left side attack (Who both happened to be All-Americans) and two potential all-American setters will no doubt cause some issues. Add in poor passing/defense and inexperienced players who aren't delivering and the result is this year's UCLA squad..... I also hope they can start winning again but from what I've seen, its not going to get any easier any time soon.....

What's wrong with Moenoa?

Their recruiting has been confusing. Recruited too many setters, lack of outside hitters who can help, various middle projects. I don't get it.

Bad setting, no pin terminators on the left and average libero play lead to Pac 12 losses.

I think they had some staff turnover, did they not? Theoretically they upgraded their staff with the addition of Stein Metzger.

I think they had some staff turnover, did they not? Dan O'Dell left, Stein Metzger moved from the volunteer ass't position to fill Dan's spot. That's about it.
