I'd love one of the numerous all american's on the bench at Texas or PSU to transfer to Wisconsin... Simone Lee PSU bound but from Wisconsin, i'm looking at you... transfer, transfer to the badgers!! What makes you think Russ would give her a release to transfer to another B1G school? It doesn't matter anyway. She's coming to Penn State to win national championships. The next time you see her playing volleyball in Wisconsin, she'll be denting the floor in Madison.

ya ya psuvolley, i'm just saying a lot of those all americans will barely see the floor. and if she doesn't actually play at psu (transfer's before this year) russ won't have much to say about it at all.. i know i'm thinking wishfully.

Actually, Russ would have a lot to say about it. She has already signed her LOI.

When was the last 3-4 year non transfer setter starter? I have not researched it at all but off the top of my head seems like the last couple of starters have been transfers. Maybe I should pay more attention.

Erica Handley Syracuse to Minnesota. Confirmed. Sophomore Setter, 6'1. I'm really scratching my head on this one. I know she's from Lakeville, and was club teammates with Wilhite and the Tapps, but Katie Shau is in the same class and Samantha Seliger Swenson is coming in 2015. Plus Sydney Howard is still here. How many setters do they need? Or is somebody leaving?

Schau likes it here and isn't going anywhere, and is more than likely our starting setter next year, possibly even in 2015 during SSS's freshman year. (Sam Swenson hasn't been impressing me with her play as of late). But ya, no business carrying 4 setters IMO. Not sure what Hugh is thinking there. Well, now that I think about it, while I don't agree with it, we are subbing out one setter (Palmer) and putting in another (Handley) on the roster for 2014.

Having four setters helps in practice. Which is probably one reason Karyn Israel is still on the team. And, maybe she won't give Schau as much of a run as she will Howard.
As far as I know, the staff likes Schau and she will be given every opportunity to start next year. Hopefully, a spring season and a full "training" camp will allow her to connect better with the middles and RS.

Dana Backlund transferring from Florida to Oregon State per her twitter. I'm not surprised she's leaving. It's too bad it didn't work out for her at Florida. Best of luck at Oregon State.
