I agree, Mendoza and Kahakai, will have a battle between them. One will be the Libero, the other will be the DS. Not a bad passing combination to have. Being how Shoji normally favors Senior players, it will be hard for Maglio to replace Adolpho. Maglio would have to be really, really good to do that. By really, really good, I mean by running the slide. Vorster does not run the slide at all, so the other Middle would have to do it really well. Vorster is the blocking middle, the Adolpho, or whoever is the other Middle will be the offensive Middle. That is the way, Dave uses his middles. There are two reasons I love jade. Her blocking and her attitude. She's always bringing the team up and when she's scored a point, she's HAPPY. She always bubbly and never sad on the court. And her blocking is superb. I don't see maglio beating Adolpho out, but we never know. I really like 'maglio and if Annie comes in 2015, we will have solid middles Do not count out that girl Huff. Expecting her to redshirt next season, but she could be a factor in 2015, and beyond. Very athletic, just a little short on volleyball experience right now. That 2015 team will be loaded with the likes of Taylor, Greeley, Passi, and Castillo, on the outside. Vorster, Maglio, Huff, and most likely Mitchem, at MB. Setting of course will be Higgins, and Kahakai as Libero.

I really hope mitchem comes because she's amazing and I already know Castillo will shine. She's supposedly one of the best players in the San deigo area

She is coming to Hawaii cause she wants to concentrate on volleyball, improve her skills in that sport, from the Master Dave Shoji. That is why I mentioned, expecting her to redshirt, next season. She is an outstanding Basketball player, meaning she is athletic enough to play the outside if Dave so desires, in the future.

And hopefully Dave can land some more recruits for 2015. He doesn't lose any scholorships though, so that might be a problem. Do you know how much he will be using in 2014 and how much he's saving for 2015?

She's supposedly one of the best players in the San deigo area Who's Mitchem? Who else do we have for 2015 coming in? Annie mitchem. Junior college POY. Number 16 out of highschool for the class of 2013. She was recruited by uh and nebraska but due to academics couldn't go to either school. She's a beast MB and sources say she will come for sure in 2015. Annie had 309 kills with 3.64 kills per set, hitting at .436 and 1.61 blocks per set. The only other recruit I know is Casey Castillo

Do you know how much he will be using in 2014 and how much he's saving for 2015? Well, Dave has 7 scholarships to give out in 2014, he used 4, for Greeley, Maglio, Huff, and Kahakai. That means he has 3 remaining for 2015. 2 of those scholarships will be going to Castillo, and Granato. He is holding the last scholarship for Mitchem.

She plays for Punahou, sort of like Tai, if that tells you anything. I am a little surprised Dave offered her a scholarship, and did not just invite her to walk-on.
Off the subject, have you heard anything about Tai going on a 2 year Mormon mission starting next year, I have heard rumors to that regard.

[br I've heard about that, don't know if it's true though. If so, good for her. But if not that's ok as well. Either way don't see her starting. Haven't been this disappointed with a player in a long time. Really expected more out of her. Just saw a little video on granato. I'm not that impressed. He should save the scholarship for someone stronger. Isn't their a STAR setter right now who's a freshman that's looking at hawaii? She's Samoan or something I beleive

Yes, there is a Samoan setter that is looking at Hawaii, but she will not be available till 2016. Hawaii will have scholarships available by then.

With Tai Leaving, UH will have three scholarships to give out this spring.

Have you even seen McKenna play besides some videos up on youtube?? She is a fabulous recruit, and will be very very good in college.

Cause if Huff does play Basketball, she will be on a Basketball scholarship, not a Volleyball one. I do not believe Laura Beeman would want 2 players missing half the Basketball season. Otherwise, she would have gone after the Kamehameha girl.
