Haven't seen a thread on this yet which I find a little surprising.
With the wealth of talent Texas has next year, who will be in what position? I have to believe the locks will be Eckerman, Bell(not totally sure where though), and McCoy. The L2, RS, and M2 positions are gonna be a tight competition I believe. Unless jerrit wants to start out in a 6-2 all over again with Dalton healthy and Collins.
What do y'all think?

Im having a total brain fart, but who was texas RS this past season? How Jerrit ran is offense confused me most of the time thats why. Didn't he start three middles with two on the court at all times? Or I may be wrong.

Ogbogu was the "right side" but I put that in quotations because, like you said, she probably had more swings from the middle than the other two middles

That part of jerrits offense always confused me. Especially since Ogbogu was listed as a MB on the roster and the Avca AA

In the beginning of the season, I predict Texas will run a 6-2 with:
S - Chloe (back row setter) S - Nicole (back row setter) Opp - Nicole (attacks/receives-serve when rotated to the front row) Opp - Molly (subs for Chloe in the front row) OH - Haley OH - Tiffany MB - Khat MB - Chi L - McCoy (subs for the MBs) DS - Pilar (subs for Tiffany in the back row)
I think Chiaka will start at MB since she really excels at attacking in front of the setter, while Molly at Opp will still be able to run her slide attacks (similar to Sha'Dare) but she also has the ability to quickly transition off the net and attack with a traditional approach.

Highly, highly doubt that Molly will play RS.
Let's see if Dalton is ready for spring matches.
And will Hattis be back or will she transfer in the tradition of Texas middle transfers the previous 3 seasons?

Who knows if this is what Elliott is thinking, but I love this idea. Although id like to see how Baker does in the backrow before we assign her a DS.

With the additions of Tiffany, Mirta and Cat...Jerritt, Salima and Erik have many new tools in the tool chest to work with. If they can get the chemistry right...the 2014 team can be better than last years Final Four squad. Too many have overlooked this team with Bailey graduating. Good Luck!!

Various distinguished volleyball pundits have opined that a 6-2 should be run by two similar setters. Since Collins and Dalton have vastly different body types I am doubting they have similar setting tendencies, although of course I could be wrong. I foresee a 5-1 next year. And does Baker pass?
Don't think 2014 Texas has been overlooked; nothing to see yet.Depending on their schedule, one or two lossess in pre conference, one or no losses in conference, a top seed and excellent chance at the Final Four.

As I said in an earlier thread, I think that if they can get their ball control issues addressed, they could be really effective running a quicker offense next season. At any rate, I expect they will be one of the national title contenders yet again. Not meaning this as a shot, but are there other programs at Texas that are at that level on an annual basis? With their resources, I think there should be. I do think they made a hire that makes sense for football, but it may take a couple of his recruiting cycles to really get things going. With volleyball, they seem to just keep rolling in that regard. There are worse problems than trying to figure out how to get the most out of your considerable talent on hand.
