Okay, I was seeing if anything noteworthy was happening with Texas, but it seems like just another argument is happening here. Moving along......

Just found out how to quote from a different thread. Quoted it for proof. So While you may never have thought dalton was a setter, Chis did and Im pretty sure the only reason he said dalton was not a setter, Is because I claimed she was and he just wanted to start an argument. Sadly that backfired because 1. Every single texas fan has stated dalton is a setter 2. He himself stated she was a better setter than OH I'm flattered that you took the time out to go and find that quote. You're right, I did say that...2 YEARS AGO. If I remember correctly, Dalton and Collins weren't even at Texas yet. Anyway, things change. Dalton has always been a capable setter. I never argued against that. It's her leadership skills/intangibles that are in question. I thought she had them earlier, but I was wrong. Nothing against her as a player, but an elite setter has a set of intangibles that you can't teach. Look at Carlini, Glass, Fofao, Naz, etc. Nice try though. Curiously...what intangibles are you referring to? I thought a setter's main job is to "better" the ball, regardless of leadership skills/intangibles (although that would be great too)?

This is coming from the guy who thinks Dalton should run a 5-1 next season based on a two minute clip he saw of Texas playing a spring match in which we saw Dalton set a total of FOUR balls. You have poor reading comprehension skills. I've watched dalton set in 2012, those clips and I've talked too MANY Texas fans. I rather listen to fans of the program, who attend the spring matches. You can talk to as MANY Texas fans as you want. That means nothing. As this board has shown repeatedly, none of them know what they're talking about.

By putting their attackers in the best possible position to score, figuratively and literally. How do they do that figuratively? By being outstanding communicators, motivators, and leaders. How do they do that literally? By locating the ball well, making good decisions, executing a game plan, being deceptive, and taking advantage of opportunities. Their main job is not to "better the ball."

Not sure if mentioned before but Texas opens the season in a tournament with Seattle, UTEP, New Mexico in Albuquerque Thanks. Nice opportunity for Sarah Hattis to play in front to friends and family; but, disappointed we're not playing at home opening weekend, and not sure those opponenets will help our RPI as much as some others could. New Mexico schedule: www.golobos.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=26000&ATCLID=209467829

Football has home games on Aug. 30 and Sept. 6. Then there is a big football game (against UCLA) at Cowboy Stadium on September 13. Going to be interesting what Elliott comes up with.

So Texas in Lincoln September 20th?
Hoping the Texas tournament isn't the weekend of the 13th since we will be in Dallas for the football game, but looks like that is a possibility now.

Well at least we'll be able to watch the Arizona match on Friday, Sept. 12th before heading to Dallas the following morning for the football game at Cowboy Stadium. Love that Florida has been schedule for the Saturday after the Thanksgiving football game. Another good example of the the volleyball and football programs working together.

2014 Texas Volleyball Schedule How do you feel about the non conference schedule? You think Texas can go undefeated?

2014 Texas Volleyball Schedule How do you feel about the non conference schedule? You think Texas can go undefeated? It's definitely possible, but Florida and nebrajsa won't be cake walks. Yes Texas beat nebraska this past season, but you never know. Especially playing in Lincoln. And Arizona won't be easy either. Texas will probably win, but Arizona could upset them.

Unlike most fans of Texas Volleyball, I think next season will be a mini-rebuilding season. Too many questions at setter, OH (replacing Webster) and libero. Hopefully, it all breaks well as the season progresses.
I love the Florida game being scheduled before post season begins. Should tell us about the Texas program.
