Hate to say it, but the problems with the JVA run deeper than just trying a new coach out. Japan is still living off a tradition it established over 40 years ago. The game has changed too much. Unless they are willing to scrap their entire system and rebuild from scratch - athlete training and selection, systems of play, core philosophies - they won't be able to recapture their competitiveness internationally in the men's game.
But the one thing they do have is alot of money, and a rabid fan base that loves the game. They should leverage the sport's popularity in their country and use it to their advantage. Right now, the politics of the JVA and the philosophy of its entrenced leadership is hurting them, not helping them.
