I am watching the miniseries Chernobyl on HBO. Really heavy and intense stuff given the subject-matter. But pretty watchable as well. Interestingly, the writers on the series previously wrote comedies, now he decided to try gripping drama based on the real-life event, whoa, talk about a change in genre. Heard Chernobyl is good AF. It's pretty gripping if unavoidably grim and somber. It makes you want to keep watching. I appreciated they tried to stay true to the core of the real event, they don't try to "Hollywood" it with two dimensional cardboard characters. In a way, it's like a horror series, except instead of monster or serial killer like Freddy Kruger, Pinhead or Jason, the killer is invisible but lethal, the radiation. That is more scary because it was a very real horror that actually happened. It also explores the corruption of the Soviet Union and how the catastrophe exposed all the ugly crumbling system of the USSR.

I'm interested in how this All in the Family/The Jeffersons live show turns out. I had never heard of this until you mentioned it. (I don’t watch broadcast or cable TV. I also don’t watch Showbiz news.)

Apparently, there's a good TV show titled Jessica Jones. I had never heard of it before until I happened to catch a clip of a David Tennant interview on youtube today. But then again, I'm not aware of a lot of things.

The first season was very good. I liked it, even though it was a little dark. Your wife may not like it because one of the main characters is an assassin. However, her acting is excellent. The show has some nice humor built in. I never got around to watching season 2; I got bored a bit.

The first 3 episodes were very good; definitely recommend it. They added some fictional characters into the story to make it easier to follow. I enjoyed the series, thus far.

It was interesting to watch the pull back camera shots that showed the camera people, staff, etc. and all the various sets lined up in a row. I thought Marisa Tomei and Jaime Foxx did good jobs. Jaime flubbed a line but he owned it and turned it into a comical moment. Nice to see how alert and lucid Norman Lear is for 96 yrs old. Also good to see the original Florence the Maid reprise her role.

It got tiring very fast.

I've seen her as a child actor in Remember Me and it's hard to picture her as an assassin, but as I said in another thread, anyone can play an assassin. She has a lot of good facial expressions -- often hilarious, other times bizarre.

I love Barry. That female Black detective is pretty wicked funny. But they give her the funniest lines. The Chechens are funny, too.
