Becayse she's competing with too many great OH. I never once said she wouldn't be good, or that she wouldn't be great. But when you're competing against the best, it's hard for you to be the best. IMO, to say one of the best in the nation, that means top five in the nation. Last year that was hartong, Robinson, eckerman, vansant, and henning. They were recognized as first team AA for a reason. Next year IMO the best OH will be vansant, eckerman, burgess, Bricio and gray. Kadie defiantly has great potential, but compared to the OH next year, she won't be one of the best. Kadie will absolutely be one of the best outside hitters in the country next season. You're crazy. If you ever saw her play in person, you'd understand why. Like I said, i judge best differently. I consider best to be top 5 in the nation. You guys may judge it differently, so by your standards she may very well be the best. I havent seen her play in person but I've seen almost all their matches and youtube and she's an amazing player. Hits the ball hard and knows where to hit it. Her hitting percentage wasn't the greatest, but she plays in the b1g so it's understandable for a freshman.

She absolutely has the potential to be top five next season if she keeps her shoulder healthy and she continues improving and producing at the rate she was last season. Hitting .260 as a freshman L1 in the Big Ten should impress you.

Hitting .260 as a freshman L1 in the Big Ten should impress you. I would not be shocked if she was top five. But at the same time, I would not be shocked if she wasn't. This is simply because she has to compete with tremendous OH. Krista Vansant, Haley Eckerman, Samantha Bricio, Alexa Gray, Jordan Burgess are some that I can name off the top of my head that are better imo. The only reason Jordan Burgess was not eligible, was because she was in the toughest region, thus she couldnt make the team. But she obviously deserved more because she was voted to AA HM and you need a Unanimous descision for that. Burgess hit .294 in the pac 12. Thats something to be proud of and thats a great hitting percentage for a six rotation OH. Even carly kan has potential to be a great OH hitter. Kan had 3.27 kps while hitting an amazing .364 percentage. Those are FANTASTIC numbers for a freshman whos on the shorter side and was recruited as a DS. Granted the SEC isnt the b1g so I wont say shes better than kadie because I dont know how kadie would play in that conference. Still I was SHOCKED that she did not make it on third team at least. Kan had 18 kills and hit .471 against purdue. THATS AMAZING for a six rotation player. Kadie on the other hand hit .161 with 10 kills in their first match against purdue, and the next match she had 12 kills and hit .267. Im not knocking kadie in anyway. She is definitely an amazing player and will only improve, but IMO she wont be one of the best OH in the country next year because there are so many great OH she has to compete with.

CeCe is the tallest middle and touches the highest on the team (10'6"). Kira should be listed at 6'2" and Melanie is right at 6'0". Kira is a freak off one foot and Melanie has international experience and a high vball I.Q. Melanie actually has a higher vertical jump between the two and needs to in order to compete. Kira played for a very small club program and is playing catchup from an experience standpoint. Kira will really compete when her experience catches up with her strength and athleticism. Could be this year. She improved by leaps and bounds during the sand season.

Apparently Cook has really been impressed with Hall and Keil. journalstar.com/sports/huskers/volleyball/nu-volleyball-notebook-huskers-start-spring-season-at-iowa-state/article_030ce859-1ed3-578d-ae44-a92db191b442.html

Kelsey teamed up with Mary in sand and won a couple of matches! I look for her to step up!

That is a very strange statement. Any team with the Rolfzen twins should be feared, and that is just the beginning of the Husker's talent. Whether you like Cook or not, he is one of the game's great teachers -- and this young team is just soaking up what he has to teach them these days. I think you see a tremendous leap forward for the Rolfzens and Pohlmiller this year. Really the Huskers may not miss a beat from last year because they were SO young last year. Freshmen often run out of gas late in the season, and I think you saw the Rolfzens subject to that. They'll be much more acclimated to the B10 grind and the NCAAs this year. I think it's a no-brainer to consider Nebraska one of the top contenders to win the B10 -- along with Wisky, PSU, Purdue and maybe MSU and Ill. One thing for sure, Nebraska is not feared like the Huskers once were. They will be good in '14, but good like 3rd to 5th place in B1G.

Nebraska wins game one.....have never understood the lovefest concerning Keil. I am still not impressed. She is not a difference maker.

For those who subscribe and are watching, who's starting/playing and how are things looking? Huskers up 2-0. Neither team has much rhythm. Ostrander for Nebraska has done a good job blocking on the left side, Bigbee doing well for ISU. The Rolfzen's, it seems, haven't done a lot offensively. Kelsey Fien looked good on the outside in the first set, but she needs to work on her blocking. Middles for Nebraska getting some good looks.

She does a lot of things that don't get noticed by regular fans. She has very good hang time and a fast arm. She hit .333 and got credit for 8 blocks in 3 games.

Please tell me you simply mean she jumps well and that you really don't believe someone can actually suspend themselves in mid-air.
