I agree that we should hope for both Hawaii and Northridge to make the tourney. Three BW teams going to the dance two years in a row is a good thing the whole conference. Agreed....but also actually make some noise. In all honesty, only Northridge did damage last year in the tournament, even if they exited the same time as Hawaii. Hopefull, all three receives a favorable draw.

The fun thing about post season in any sport is that the winner is usually the team that peaks at that time of the season,so you never know how any team will finish. It would great to see our BW teams do some damage this year. And, yes, three favorable draws would be welcome, too.

Don't know why you keep harping on this. Unless you haven't been paying attention, Hawai'i has played their non conference matches at home prior to the conference season for over 20 years now. Not surprising considering the closest opponent (conference or non conference) is at least 2,400 miles away. The Wahine already travel a considerable distance during conference and have to play back-to-back nights against Big West opponents. You must have failed geography and economics. lol - I'm not harping on why Hawaii plays non-conference at home. I'm simply pointing out it's not going to help them in their at-large chances. To think otherwise is denying reality. and I think I can find Hawaii on a map. Plus I know what a supply/demand curve looks like i think it all depends on how much hawaii is a bubble team for an at-large bid. someone posted the NCAA championship manual for this year. i can't remember which thread now. and i remember the committee looks at certain 'primary' factors for at-large selection, like the RPI. if they can't make a decision based on that, then they look at 'secondary' criteria. 'location of contest' was a 'secondary' criteria. so if hawaii is truly a bubble team close to the "cut line," then the consideration of the home-away matches will hurt them for sure (among other things like record against top 25 RPI, or top 50, etc). but i think that if their RPI holds steady at 30 (or even at least low 30s), then i think hawaii is safely in, without having to go to the 'secondary criteria.' but, of course, who knows how the committee truly operates, right? hawaii also plays one of the big west bottom dwellers (riverside) in this final week. riverside's record is just so bad. hawaii's RPI could take a hit. the more "on the bubble" hawaii's post-season hopes become, the more the home/way match criteria will come into play.

Except the NCAA does NOT look at home-away adjusted RPI so it is, in fact, irrelevant. really? we know that for a fact?yes -- at least it's in the NCAA championship manual. (again, i wish i remember which thread it was posted in.) the NCAA uses an adjusted RPI for volleyball. but home/away is not one of the adjustments. **ok, i found the thread with the championship manual link. and of course it's a thread entitled DI Selection Criteria: volleytalk.net/post/1219323/thread

I am looking forward to tomorrow's match at LBSU vs UCI. This should be an exciting match and the last challenge LB faces (CSUF is just a bad team). UCI can win this match if everything falls their way.

Long Beach St. is 14-1 at home and they will be ready for Irvine. These ladies are focused like a laser beam and they know that their place--an undefeated BWC season--in storied LBSU Women's volleyball history is at stake. The Beach will defeat UCI in three closely contested sets.

I give Irvine a chance, LB's serve receive still goes south sometimes. although with how well Okpala & Murray & Brinke keep progressing, hard to see Irvine winning more than a set

I am heading to the Pyramid to see the LBSU-UCI game tonight. I was also at the last meeting. I was so impressed with Long Beach two weeks ago in their win over Santa Barbara.
It's just a shame that two razor-thin non-Conference defeats in September (LMU and Oregon State) may cost them a chance to host a first round regional. So Cal may completely get shut out of being a first round host. I guess UCLA has the only shot.

Long Beach State continues to impress me. They have improved so much since the first match with Irvine in week one of conference. They had a lull at the very end of set one, which carried into set 2. It was great to see them storm back from a 15-18 deficit to win set 2, 25-20. It was over after that.
I truly believe that Long Beach State is just as good as the Pac-12 teams after Washington and Stanford. I feel that Long Beach is even with Oregon, Arizona, UCLA, Colorado, Oregon State and USC this year. I have seen UCLA, USC, Oregon State, Colorado and Washington State play live this season and I truly believe that Long Beach is their equal. They have a big disadvantage being stuck in the Big West this year, with no chance to get battle tested week after week, plus dealing with the glass ceiling their conference provided for their RPI.
I just hope they shock the world by advancing a few rounds in the NCAA's.

Northridge tied with Irvine at 1-1, & down 9-6 in the 3rd set. Northridge needs to win to keep on the right side of the bubble.

Anyone know of any potential 2015-16 recruits for Hawaii Davis or Northridge?
