I thought the Brazilian federation had given up on forcing teams?

I hadn't heard that (not like I have any inside knowledge, though).
I have a hard time believing that Pedro would be playing with Emanuel if it isn't because the federation has "forced" that partnership.

Nice! I'm gonna be in Gstaad, I'll try to get an interview with her.

I wonder if maybe Pedro and Emmanuel were already entered or just couldnt get another team to break up for them?

That would make sense she is reappearing in Gstaad since it was the first open event to register for at the time of that article. I also wonder whether we will see some partner switches on the men's side. Pedro/Emanuel was originally dictated by the federation. I remember Dalhausser commenting in DIG (or somewhere) that he couldn't believe Brazil had broken up Pedro/Bruno after their success and thought it was because the Brazilian federation was trying to push Pedro (and Emanuel) out of the mix.

As a defender besides Misty May, Larissa is my second favorite, although I hated seeing the way she would tear into Juliana sometimes, she made EY look tame.

@kro not sure if anyone made EY look tame when she really went off. Lol. Yes there were times when Larissa really let Jules have it unfairly too. I am just glad that there will be more competition on the ladies side until these younger teams get some experience under their belts.

I wonder how this will affect seeding? Julianna and her partner should get the main draw, while Larissa and her partner will have to go through the qualifier...I suppose.

This is interesting. Without the federation's help or some wildcards, it appears Larissa/Talita are stuck. They are currently a reserve team and ranked 6th in the Brazilian teams registered for Gstaad.
2920 Seixas-Agatha 2840 Carol-Maria Clara 2621 Lima-Fernanda 2450 Juliana-Antonelli 2222 Lili-Eduarda 1800 Larissa-Talita
Within a couple events I'm sure Juliana/Antonelli will past Lima/Fernanda for 3rd. But unless Larissa can get into some events through wildcards, they are going to have to wait until Opens (next one is in October) or next year's CSV events t get her some points and into grand slams.

Would Larissa and Juliana have enough points if they teamed up again? My question is...why wouldn't the Brazilian federation put these two back together right now?

I don't think the federation would break up Brazil's most successful team (Taiana/Talita) just to let Larissa/Talita sit on the sidelines. Also, filed under A for Awkward: Right above Larissa in points is Lili...who Larissa married last year.

But as guest2 pointed out, supposedly the federation is not in control of the teams anymore? I'm not sure where that came from - of course the federation is in control of the teams. Edit: I just read the article guest2 was referring to. The problem with it is that Brazilian players have always been at the beck and call of the federation - even if the national team training concept has been blown up (and I haven't seen any confirmation of that yet), it doesn't mean the players get to make their own decisions on partners. For example - why would Talita give up multiple Grand Slams (with the largest amounts of prize money ever offered, to boot) to hang out on the sidelines with Larissa? Because she enjoys losing tens of thousands of dollars? Nah. She got a call.
