I was pretty impressed with Courtney Thompson last season. I didn't think she got quite the credit she deserved for how well she set for the Huskies as a freshman last year.

Does anyone else wonder where the Pac-10 fans are? i'm still a little volleyballed out from the Olympics. i saw a LOT of volleyball over those two weeks and i'm still watching replays as of this morning. i've been following Stanford/SC/Arizona/UCLA but its hard for me to comment on matches if i didn't see them, box scores dont do much for me. once the matches start coming in i'll start running my mouth more.

Does anyone else wonder where the Pac-10 fans are? Granted, they had a tough weekend, but I was hoping and expecting some comments from Pac-10 fans about their teams. I would love to know what happened with California. I wish that UCLA fans would post more, they have a team that is definitely worth talking about! Stanford fans don't really know what to say right now, they're having a slow start to the season (but they are still very scary!). Washington never had many fans, but maybe we can lure in a few this season? USC folks are actually impressing me with their handling of the recent loss though. Kudos. Oregon people? Where are you? I wanna find out what's going on?! Oregon State, did you drop off the map? Washington State, what's happnin' in Pullman? Arizona State... think you can beat UCSB this weekend? Let's hear Pac-10ers! Yeah, I'm surprised we haven't really heard from UCLA fans. It seems a lot of people like UCLA, but we're hearing from people who like UCLA behind their own team. No UCLA students or alums voices their opinion. Maybe too many road matches to get a feel yet for what their team is like.

No UCLA students or alums voices their opinion. Maybe too many road matches to get a feel yet for what their team is like. I do it! The team looks great, five starters returning and Nana Meriwether already seems better than Wright. Due to the fact that Cullen is still not 100%, the Bruins can only run the 5-1 offense and not the true blue offense that Banachowski designed for the team. The True Blue offense will require Cullen to play middle blocker for one rotation and it could be tough for her knees. The Bruins used the True Blue offense last year and they definitely overachieved with a number 5 year end ranking. It works for UCLA as this is a team without a terminating hammer but with versatile players like Murphy and Cullen who can play outside and middle. If I remembered correctly, it is probably the only top 10 teams last year without an AA. All the 4 teams ranked above UCLA last year had a go to player. SC had Ross, Florida had Cruz, Hawaii had Willoughby and Minnesota had Busse. Even other teams like Arizona has Glass, Pepperdine had Wilkins and OSU has Gordon. Since the Bruins did not have a star player they need to mix things up to give the opponents different looks. By using the 5-1 offense, this means that Green will have to start at outside and Lyman and Cullen will share the opposite position. Rachell Johnson may jump high but she is still not ready to take over the outside position. Once Cullen is ready, the Bruins should be even better than now. The loss to Hawaii is disappointing but it is not completely unexpected, it is always tough to play at Hawaii although the drop to #6 is a little too low to me

I stopped posting on this site long time ago. There was so much negative stuff being said about Ariziona, Rubio & the players, that I didn't want to be apart of it any more. No matter what was said, it always turn into something bad. Even in the opening thread, every team in the pac 10 was mention except Arizona.
Now I just read and enjoy the comments of everyone else.
I was at the WildCat classic this weekend. Arizona looked really good. There's still some bugs they need to work out, but they are getting there. They will be in the hunt for the Pac-10 Crown. Go Cat! Go Bears!

Even in the opening thread, every team in the pac 10 was mention except Arizona. A thousand apologies on the omittance. I knew I didn't have them all listed, but couldn't determine which school was unlisted. By the way, I think that Arizona is still very solid, and am scared for when they get healed up and in sync.

Some of the Stanford faithfull are lurking at The Bootleg reading up on Saki's postings. Not to worry, we're still here, a bit shell-shocked, but still here.
