I'm new here so maybe this isn't the right forum, but can anyone provide any insight on the future of Weber State VB and/or Coach Tom Peterson?

Not sure there is a lot of pressure to do much at Weber State. They haven't been good for a long time.

I guess I should have asked "Can Tom Peterson make Weber State better and even a contender in the Big Sky?"

Overall 3-26 Big Sky 3-17
Overall 11-21 Big Sky 4-16
Overall 7-27 Big Sky 3-17
With records like this going into his 4th year it would seem like he is not able to turn the program around. It is definitely not due to a lack of coaching experience. This is a coach with a NCAA title at Penn State Men, but there is so much more than just the X's and O's that goes into winning. I have never seen them play but the question is are they getting recruits that can compete in the Big Sky and if so, why aren't they more competitive???

Tom Peterson is kinda an odd duck. Talked to him once many years ago, about a year after he had won the 1994 NCAA Championship, but had to resign from coaching to care for his mother who was ill. I know his time at BYU was clouded by some squirrely issues regarding NCAA violations.

One of the nicest guys ever. Weber State could care less, IMO, as long as there is no trouble on the academic or NCAA regulation stuff. He will probably retire soon, and I predict he will retire at Weber State.
Any local talent will go to Utah, BYU, Utah State. Tough to recruit to Ogden Utah.

Sooo if they"could care less" then wouldn't this type of performance be unacceptable??? Now if you mean they couldn't care less....You might want to be careful...I have heard they care very, very much. As for the recruiting in Utah...there are a lot of quality Big Sky recruits that Utah, BYU, and Utah St. are not recruiting. Right now they are losing recruiting battles against Idaho St....have you been to Pocatello, ID? I mean...lets be realistic...with how bad they are then the majority of the players in Utah can help them. Rumors out here in the club scene is that his seat is hot, and unless he gets better soon......he will not be retiring at Weber St.
