I wonder that as well. Finley was a big reason why they got to the 2012 finals. No way can anyone in their roster, or incoming, replace her.

She was the 7th best starter on that team, one with many All Americans from the last two years. You could have replaced her with 100 MB2's in the country and they still would have gotten deep in 2012.

But in that 2012 season, other than Ariana Williams, their other MB was Celia DeFlice in 2012, who was a non factor.

Jim Moore makes sure he has who he wants in his program.

Finley was not very impressive in her first two years at Oregon, so I don't think this is much of a loss. And I think Crittendon has much more upside.

No one has addressed the OP's question...why are 2 good players leaving the Oregon program at this very late date??

Rumor on the street is that Oregon's big lefty was going to take Canace's starting spot and she didnt want to play middle and Kevorken simply didnt like where she was...

At this moment, Canace Finley is still on the Oregon 2014 roster as a junior...which makes it look like a very late transfer.

Kevorken left the team before sand season and didn't play it, which is why she was taken off last time it was done. The incoming freshman aren't listed either, despite having been on campus for 2/3 weeks for summer term.

I'm skeptical about the "rumor on the street" since Finley is going to be playing middle at USD. Also, Finley is certainly a loss for Oregon. She was by far the best returning blocker on a team that seriously needs any kind of block. And while Crittendon looks to be a heck of an athlete, she looked beyond raw last season. Can she make the leap to a legit high-level Pac-12 RS next season? I don't know if I'd bet on it. Oregon's roster is getting pretty thin, as well. At any rate, Finley isn't the second coming of Paula Weishoff or anything, but she's a very useful player. I believe she'll do well at USD.

Now you're just trolling. Are you banking on Naya being Bergsma level this year? If she is then, Oregon will be fine.
