According to the Star-Advertiser the crowd was about 5,000. I think this is the number of tickets sold. It looked closer to 4,000 to me. However, I am not an expert in crowd estimating. How were the crowds in the other venues? I know the players themselves enjoyed the experience of playing before a Hawaii crowd. Anyways, enjoyed the match. Surprised how well newbies Kelsey Robinson and Tori Dixon did. So much for the need for extensive "international experience." Of course, I wanted to see former Hawaii players like Kanani Danielson and Emily Hartong on the floor. Maybe in the future.

I thought Tori would and Kelsey would be exposed wrt their defense at the net. I'm sure that is an area both will improve on, in any case. However, last night they did better than I would have expected (as if my expectations matter). Again, this is "just" a friendly and all. But it isn't "nothing". And if Kelsey never plays another day of volleyball, she can always say she solo-blocked Fabiana. If I were her, I would loop that video, put it on a 50-inch screen, hang it on my wall, play it continuously for the rest of my life and call it art.

Can't you just turn on the radio then? The only radio that I do have is in my car. I was hoping to watch the match and be able to get some type of audio. And sitting in my car with my laptop just wasn't appealing to me. Oh well. Planning on attending the match tomorrow evening. Ha. You know now that you mention it...I don't think I could tell you right now whether I still have a radio and if so, where the heck it is hiding.

Glass with another crap set on set point. LOL!! Was that crap set on set point in the second set? Jeez, the FIVB is so stupid! Why would anyone, including Vollytalk posters, fall for that moronic use of "set" for "game?" A "set" is a group of things, like a set of steak knives. A "game" is a singular event, such as a game of volleyball. Just call it a game and declare your sanity. Stay strong! And keep using sideout scoring, coach! Everything comes back in time!

BTW, you didn't answer my question.

I just finished watching the match and I was uber impressed with this Robo girl (Aseveryoneis). She is going to have an magnificent career for Team USA. Brazil did target her on serve-receive and she handled it well. A little shaky at some parts but she'll get over it. If only Nicole had a chance to play that Opp postion with a set that is a tad higher; she would be killing it. She probably hits harder than most girls on the team given Brazil too. Anyway, I am excited for this match tonight and hopefully it is another battle! Aloha... Ayyy... haha

Robinson had 58 of the 98 receptions for Team USA last night. That's incredibly mentally draining. She's carrying a heavy load.
