I think ZUHN drastically under rated in this class. But the top 10 recruits in this class are all stellar. Loaded class here. Just think if Eggleston was still in this class from Texas? Pretty great group. Apparently, you’ve seen many top recruits from different classes regularly. Where would you rank Zuhn and Knuckles nationally regardless of position? Any answer would be appreciated but I think the coaches, now view, both of those players higher since Senior aces came out. I base it on the number two nationally ranked recruiting class.

Would like to inquire about why you believe Zuhn is drastically underrated. I think that she was appropriately rated, maybe slightly underrated. She is TALL and puts a decent amount of power on the ball. However, I've watched Norco for a while, and I really don't know if Zuhn is ready to carry the load on the pins for Nebraska as of right now. As a left side, her contact point is low and I recall that much shorter blockers were getting touches on her hits. Ball control also isn't there at this point. As a right side, I do see the potential, but its hard to gauge how well she will do against B1G blocks and defenders. There isn't a ton of evidence to evaluate her as middle either. Hard to tell if her lateral movement/quickness is good enough to block at an elite level. I would say her ceiling is highest on the right side Zuhn will train RS / MB at Nebraska. Which is why I mentioned those two positions, but still curious as to what attributes besides height make her drastically underrated

My understanding is that Zuhn played MB in the under armour all star game, which showcased 24 elite HS seniors. Being chosen to be on that team indicates to me she may rank a bit higher than the 395-40th best 2019 recruit. But I have not seen her play except a few highlife tapes. It's hard for me to evaluate potential from those because her height was a significant advantage. But it would seem that setting is critical to her hitting height.
Another subject but I think setting will be much improved in NE 2019 season. Not knocking Hames performance in 2018, but think she will be better in 2019.
I'm just a fan speculating, anxiously waiting for August. Go Big Red!

Sorry about the miss print, I meant 35-40th best recruit, where I read Zuhn was ranked.

Have the Huskers locked in any 2022s yet? What’s the deal with Hayden Kubik? I thought she was a strong option.

Zuhn definitely doesnt carry a load like players of fields, kubik, kipp etc... she is definitely a knotch under those players. But her upside for a program is promising. She moves very well for 6'5 and Nebraska will likely red shirt her if she moves to RS. They may need her this season as a middle if injury occurs. If she develops and gets her ambition up, she could be an all American one day. Knuckles I would put in the elite category as a libero in this class. Her biggest strength has been serve receive up to this point. I hope she transitions strong into the college game with this asset of hers. She still has a ways to go on reading hitters. Both are impressive.

Is Ifill still leaning Wisco? If she can add more power to her hits , which she has plenty of time to develop until college, she could be a very good one

Sorry about the miss print, I meant 35-40th best recruit, where I read Zuhn was ranked. I was at the UA HS match and I would rate Zuhn higher than 35-40. She is quick enough to be a middle, but her close speed would not be Alade or Ajanaku like. She would make up for it with long arms and reading the opposing team's setter and attack. Since I didn't get to see her play RS I can only say she would probably be a good blocker out on the pin.

Who are we looking for 2022? I think we're pretty stacked in the pins.

She tore her ACL last winter so will sit out her freshman year in the coming season

She was dominant at the SMQ. Talked to Dynasty coaches after they played VCN twice and they said she was really difficult to deal with.

She tore her ACL last winter so will sit out her freshman year in the coming season Dodson pre-injury was pretty mobile for her height, made herself readily available in transition, and was adding a slide to her repertoire. The trouble comparing the two (if we’re talking about comparing them as middles) is that Dodson has played Middle for a substantial amount of time compared to zuhn. I also think the timing of the rankings should be taken into consideration.... most of the impressions were likely made earlier on in both of their prep careers. I think Zuhn was dinged earlier on for her injury (IIRC), but I also think her ranking was mostly her potential as a pin hitter and not a middle. Again, it’s difficult to assess Zuhn’s potential from one Under Armour Match compared to Dodson’s whole career as a middle. I think Zuhn would be pretty good on the right and I think I could have definitely seen her slot anywhere from 25-35 in the rankings. It’s just a subjective ranking though and her development improve under Cook

Both are impressive. Zuhn is a lot like Schwarzenbach in that they’re both passive players. Zuhn is passive and Schwarzenbach is VERY passive. If they could get a mean streak in them they could both be dominant at the net. I don’t know how that passiveness can be corrected because that’s their personalities. I know the Husker staff worked hard with Callie in being more aggressive and I hope to see some change in her this fall.
