Since this story is related to Husker recruiting, I'll link it in hear VS starting a whole new separate thread. Butler's Chicago-area volleyball club developing ties to NebraskaButler has known NU coach John Cook since his days as a club coach in San Diego. They’ve gotten to know each other even better since the Huskers’ move to the Big Ten in 2011, as NU has become a popular option for the top players in the Sports Performance program. Before the move to the Big Ten, Butler said Eileen Shannon (1989-92) and Griffin (2005-07) were the only Sports Performance graduates to play for NU. “As soon as Nebraska got into the Big Ten, it changed their dynamics for recruiting Chicago-area players,” Butler said. “Nebraska’s always been an outstanding program, but the fact their families can see them play on a regular basis at places like Illinois, Northwestern, Wisconsin and Purdue, all within two hours of Chicago, makes it more appealing.” Read more @: journalstar.com/sports/high-school/volleyball/butler-s-chicago-area-volleyball-club-developing-ties-to-nebraska/article_b59c2b7a-f357-50d0-8a0f-3c741e634c69.html

The Nebraska/SPRI relationship and pipeline is solid right now.

Maybe we should start sending you drafts of our entries prior to posting them to ensure they meet with your approval. This would require too many corrections. Instead of being defensive over cluttering a thread with nonsense, be an adult, admit those posts were an eye-beating for everyone else, and move on. The level of your piousness is impressive.

You guys probably didn't hear this but a 2015 setter that plays at Tejas volleyball club committed to Nebraska a couple months ago. Her name is Brooke Smith and is 5'11. A very fluid player with great hands and excellent court awarness!

It would have nothing to do with either Kelly Hunter or Hunter Atherton. A good coach tries to bring in a quality setter every single year whether scholarship or walk-on. If Nebraska didn't find one for 2015 and Kelly got injured next year, the team would be screwed. Then they'd have to do something desperate like move Justine to setter. It was imperative to bring in a setter for 2015. It appears Brooke Smith is that setter. I haven't heard much about her, maybe those familiar with Texas club ball can fill us in. She seems to have racked up a lot of HS accolades.

Sounds like she plays middle; and is a Husker fan! Oh-oh! I was looking at the wrong Brook when I said she played middle; she is a setter!

If so, I think Nebraska is full for that class. Edit: I guess she committed back in March? vbgirls2, anything to add?

Speaking of setters, Madison Lilley was offered by Nebraska and committed to Kentucky over the weekend. She’s one of the best in the 2017 class, and is a big get for Skinner and the Wildcats.
