I expect to see her name on the roster of a Top 10 school soon. I thought Russ had a policy of not releasing scholarship players to Top 20 schools (see: Yanz). Has that changed?

That was never a thing. That was a rumor. The Penn State athletic department chose not to release her, not Rose (something about a Nebraska wrestler not given a release when he tried transferring to Penn State). I don't think Rose intends to make the transfer process for any unhappy student-athlete more of a hassle than it already is. The Yanz issue, from the very beginning, was unfortunate. There's an article about this somewhere...

I think this could be win-win situation where Paulina will get closer to family and it will ease the logjam at the left pin for the Lions. Injuries have made her first two seasons challenging but she is such a positive person that everyone will miss.

I expect to see her name on the roster of a Top 10 school soon. Conjecture or inside info? Florida would be the obvious assumption. Sad to see her go Interesting development. I believe Texas finished second for her services; Destinee Hooker was her favorite player. Not sure if Texas has any 'ships available for 2014, but I'd love to have her on our squad. She is a very skilled player.

Does her family still live in Miami? Miami is not very close to Gainesville.

Not sure they have a schollie this year but they should have one for the next 2 years. Considering she had 3 years (factoring summers too) already in school wise she should be fine for credits. For all parties this would be about as perfect a situation all things considered.

There's an article about this somewhere... Nebraska was on a list of about 4 schools they wouldn't release her to (essentially programs competing to win a title) They have no policy, they just use good judgment in the rare cases they have a transfer. The wrestler wasn't not released to compete at PSU, he owed a ton of money in parking tickets and they wouldn't release him PERIOD until he paid them.

Although, in true Vtalk style, an observation has turned into a rumor, finally an assumption, about Prieto transferring, I will join in with the flippant observation that she could transfer to Hawaii, fill an immediate need, and spend two years on the beach, great weather, in front of great crowds. I seriously don't understand why that isn't really an option for outstanding players looking to transfer. No island sickness for four years, with only a two year commitment; what a collegiate experience. But of course much further away from home.
