The Pyramid is good for fans... Especially volleyball... The acoustics aren't the best, because the Pyramid is... well , an 18 story pyramid... You can guess where the sound goes... However, you still are right on the court... Not to the extent of the Gold Mine of course, but the Gold Mine is ancient and tiny... BUT, if you talk to OPPOSING PLAYERS, they will all tell you that they all hear the heckling from the students section... I mean mean most everything we're saying... Basketball commentators on Fox Sports commented how the students are right on top of the court... So it's still intimate... That's the weird thing about the Pyramid... It has a mixed feeling... Has a "big arena" feel, with good intimacy... Nevermind the acoustics, as I posted above... I'd take the intimacy of the 'Mid over the SSC for sure... I do agree with the "cesspool" description of the T-Dome though... Nevertheless, It is loud in there - even if the fans are classless and overly rude... GO BEACH!!

I will say Wichita State facility. Has it all!!! Estrella I was curious as to why you felt that Wichita St has it all. When I went to the Shockers Web site and read about the arena I was quite impressed. It's nice. Have you been to any of their matches and what is the average attendance for the Shockers vball matches?

Yeah, when the match is on the same night as "Midnight Madness." Wrong....on the Midnight Madness night they play in the Dean Dome, the new BB arena. Carolina fans - is the Duke match this year on the 29th scheduled to coincide with Midnight Madness again?

Good call Sammy. They do. I think they were refering to the fact that the Smith center was last year's highest attendance for a volleyball match even though it coincided with march madness. Carmichael holds 10,000, couldn't have held the 16,000 that was "on hand". It does look like a nice arena though, great website.

We have a great time at UNLV's Cox Pavillion ! The gym is big (as everything in Vegas is), its always air-conditioned (unlike the Northridge hot box), the whole atmosphere is very high class & professional, and when the girls were at practice Tuesday - USHER shows up to meet them and hangout ! There is never a shortage of great restaurants & bars in the area. The biggest problem is when Jimmy Buffett comes to town next month we will have to miss a game for the concert. Maybe they can change game time!

As a player, who has had a chance to play in ever ACC venue, Carmichael is the best playing surface, lots of room to chase balls down, no obstractions, nothing gets in the way. Since 1998 the Heels have been drawing between 800-1,500 for every home game ... which is a great improvement from their old days. They constantly get 1,000 people in the seats. They are considering buying tarps to cover the seats in the upper deck, to make carmichael seem smaller
